Re: Competition for Pure Signal ?
I read the 7610 info on their group - this sounds promising. I see this as a win for ham radio. Considering the actual number of Anan users is tiny compared to the installed base of 7610's ... this can only help towards cleaning up the bands. With Elecraft working on it - Flex supposedly having it i...

Re: Size of off-set numbers (arrows) on thumb-wheels under XIT/RIT
Suggestion for a change re these arrows.... it is the same thing on WS and JTDX. The UP/DWN arrows reside in one box one above the other and for my (and most) older eyes it gets to be more difficult to mouse to them ---- instead change to 2 boxes side by side with the left having a (full box/larger)...

Re: JTDX jumps 500hz on TX
Not sure if this is what you are referring to but I suspect it is. If JT (or WS for that matter) is set up for split operation then when you transmit it will adjust the frequency of the radio to ensure your transmit tone/signal is between, if I recall correctly, 1000 and 1500 Hz. So depending on whe...

Thetis installation on a new computer
I am working on getting a new computer up and running. i7 12700K. And I'm wondering: can I install Thetis w/o it being connected to the radio? I'm trying to get everything installed: log, vspe, vac, WS, JT, time program, and Thetis - if possible, before doing the actual swap out to try to avoid pitf...

BINGO. I should have tried that hours ago. I reloaded the last saved DB. Working fine. GEEZ. The radio has been so super stable I just didn't think about this. Thanks guys. Saw 3 new ones on 6 this morning - and at 162 worked they're getting to be more rare... missed them. Hopefully an opening will ...

Re: JTDX and WSJT not keying 8000DLE
Thanks guys. First I'm not using Hamlib. I am using JT 160-rc3 (and have been for a while now) and WS 2.6.2-new improved (again, for a while now). Both have worked - for a while now. Radio in Thetis set to Flex and in JT Flex/Thetis. Nothing changed here. Second everything is as it was, nothing has ...

JTDX and WSJT not keying 8000DLE
Hardware: 8000DLE connected to i7. Running 2.9.0.6 Thetis and protocol 2. Using Etherlogic VSPE and Muzy's VAC. I have a virtual serial pair that I use to communicate between Thetis and JT (I run both WS and JT at the same time, JT is used for TX). I've been using this for months - w/o an issue. Tod...

Re: Noise Blanker DSP Values?
I have some high impulse noise issues on 6M... and fortunately, most of the time, don't have overly strong signals that mess with the NB action like it does on HF. On HF I set the Threshold at 24. That works well as a compromise. On 6M I will run it there or maybe down to 20. But on 6M EME where I a...

Just an FYI regarding WA6TMJ's post above... Sorry - no name given.. . I don't know how you're seeing that large of an improvement using NR2 on FT8... I suspect you might have quite substantial local man-made noise or at least that is the best I can come up with. I've tried NR2 in the past and its n...

Re: Compression taking place
Juha, It sounds to me like the amp just has more of an issue on that one band! If I recall TINT is best left at the default (along w/ all of its other parameters). I mentioned its use (in other threads) only to (try to) get PS to start working again as it will occasionally lock up and not work after...

Super - thanks. I'm going to keep track, or try to - how I move around from band to band and mode to mode... also split on/off. I know the latter has a good bit of knock on effects. Re: SSB output drops off considerably - new issue
Now that stated - as easy as it is to reload the firmware - I can try that. My suspicion is that it isn't going to 'get corrupted' and then solve/resolve itself through a power cycle though. But hey - its worth a try since I've little else to do.

Re: SSB output drops off considerably - new issue
Thanks for the responses guys.... The first time this happened I started with the obvious - the mic/headphone/connection. Nothing there. Then ultimately the only way that solved it was to cycle power on the 8000 which would eliminate an external issue like a connection problem. That has now resolved...

I suspect this is hardware but thought I'd throw it out to see if anyone has a suggestion on what it might be. I have an 8000DLE. How embarrassing... I haven't a clue why/how I was focusing on 1.8 ... I KNEW the latest was 2.1.18 - and thought I was there.
Anyway - thanks for your patience.
It is all working fine - my sincere apologies for the wasted bandwidth.

Radio: 8000DLE Coupler: X-tronic Software: 2.9.0 I've been using this version since April of last year with Prot1/2.3. It works fine, no outstanding issues. Re: Anan 8000 DLE Overheating
My first suspicion was that the TC652 was not thermally bonded to the heat spreader ... but using the IR gun I can clearly see that its temp is the same so it is not at fault. Unfortunately, it is not aggressive enough. If 65 is the trip point then you need the fan to be at full speed BEFORE you get...

Re: Anan 8000 DLE Overheating
This is a problem that has plagued me forever. The efficiency is terrible at lower power levels (i.e. what 97% of ops need/do to drive an amp)... and if you use it on DIG modes, FT8 or on EME I use it on Q65-60... it will continue to climb until it hits 65° and trips out. Frustrating. I have taken t...

Rick, I'm curious - are you using any COMP (turned on with some value)? I noticed that if I run COMP the result is, when I start talking, an immediate jump in the signal upper and lower products (the shoulders) ... and it settles down to the normal ~ -55 to -60. With it off it just stays at that lev...

When I click on REC two of my 'settings' disappear. COMP and TX EQ both disappear (no longer show as "on"). Is this a bug? I've set up a 705 with a wire to try and listen to my audio and set it up.... tailoring it for DXing .... but it appears if I want to use the REC and playback I'm not ...

James, Something weird going on there... almost 600W!? What are your power settings set at? Go to PA Settings tab - Gain for say 20M (or a band)... what is it currently set at? Are you aware that going up with the value reduces the output? That might have been counterintuitive to you and you went do...
