OK... further trials ended up with the overheating problem..
However, raising the front two feet up by 1 cm has made all the difference and I have not experienced a repeat of the problem.
I guess it's an airflow problem !!

Re: 8000DLE Overheating
Thanks for moving the post to a more appropriate section of the forum.. The fan is working and I had only recently performed a 'Spring Clean' to the filter - Dust Free !! As a trial I have raised the front feet of the 8000DLE by a couple of CM's to see if that make a differnce I'll try the same WSPR...

8000DLE Overheating
I have just started to play with WSPR mode and managed to set up the 8000DLE to transmit a modest 5w on WSPR Mode (2 minute transmit cycle) every 10 minutes on 160m. After approx. 4 hours I was alerted by the Anan that it had overheated and had switched into standby mode. The display showed that it ...

Re: 8000DLE serial number label
Mine wasn't even on the 8000DLE when I unpacked it - it had already fallen off !!!
I have taken a picture of it and saved it to my PC
I put the paper version with the rest of the paperwork that accompanied the $4000 radio (I jest, there was no paperwork with it - it's all on-line apparently)

Re: Orion Mk II 1.7 firmware released (current protocol/Protocol 1)
OK - Round 2 I have made progress - HPSDR Programmer has detected 8000dle and I have been able to load the 1.7 firmware I did have problems getting PowerSDR connecting to the rig but after a few power cycles all seems to be working OK. Re: Orion Mk II 1.7 firmware released (current protocol/Protocol 1)
Thanks for the help I have read and read all the info provided Loaded the various pieces of software but experienced an error - wpcap.dll missing Fixed that but still the software will not read my MAC address.. Apparently you need the latest version of Arduino 1.8.3 for this to compile correctly

Re: ANAN-8000DLE SWR Protection
Just a thought But as a newcomer to the 800DLE why are the Firmware upgrades so complicated? Admittedly once I got the rig apart it was relatively easy (apart from the erroneous scripting in the manual) Couldn't the 8000DLE have been designed to take all updates via the LAN or other dedicated port? ...
