Re: 1000 watt protection
Yes it is nice to see development activity from Apache. If you look at the 100W and 1000W PEP versions the cost of the extra PA is very reasonable. If you look at the website you can see that VSWR protection is available. https://apache-labs.com/productImages_more/T500_1048_1077_Display2.jpg

Thanks Scott I will give that a try this evening. It would be much better to have an independent RX.

Satellites - Duplex with 2 different transverters
Hello all I want to use my ANAN-100D on the QO-100 satellite. The ideal situation would be to allow the use of 2 transverters, one on ADC1 which will be used for TX and the other on RX2. I need duplex operation. As I understand it DUPLEX only works on RX1. Is it even possible to listen to RX2 while ...

Re: CAT connection for RX2
Yes it is clear Scott, I have read the CAT command reference more fully and I see the references for RX2. I will ask Michael Black if he can help on the WSJT-X dev forum.

Re: CAT connection for RX2
Hello Gary, nice to see you again. I am looking for the convenience factor :-) Sometimes I might use RX2 with a transverter while monitoring RX1 on 6m . So I select 2m in WSJT-X and it sets the frequency of RX2. I am already a luddite because I key the ANAN with an external PTT. Why? Because I want ...

CAT connection for RX2
Hello all. Is it possible to connect WSJT-X by CAT or (preferably TCP) to RX2? I would like to monitor 50.313 on RX1 and 50.323 on RX2 with 2 separate versions of WSJT-X. Is this possible? I am using the latest Thetis release and I am using TCP on RX1 which is excellent.

Re: Powered Speaker for my setup !!
Late to the party but I like the PreSonus Eris 3.5s for radio purposes including BC FM, they are easily good enough to hang off an SDR. They are not expensive. In a previous life as a recording engineer I never liked JBLs and after a recent visit to my local emporium I still don't. However this is f...

Re: Special Production Run Hermes 14 bit.
I am afraid that it means nothing to me and does not excuse the pitiful customer communications throughout. I asked for a refund and to Apache's credit this was dealt with reasonably quickly.

I feel the same way. Last month I said that I would give it one more month, tomorrow would be the deadline but instead I will pull the plug today. I paid with PayPal so I will get a refund via this route if necessary.

Re: Special Production Run Hermes 14 bit.
I have almost reached my tolerance level for this now. Very poor communication and repeated broken promises. I would not be so annoyed if Apache had been more honest and open. Meanwhile I bought an FDM-Duo which will do the same job. I will give it one more month and then cancel my order and obtain ...

Re: Special Production Run Hermes 14 bit.
Indeed it does state new orders will have an 8 week lead time. Which begs the question what is the status of old orders? I ordered mine in February. Could Apache be so kind as to indicate when decidedly not new orders will be shipped?

Re: Special Production Run Hermes 14 bit.
It is very nice to see the updated shipping information. I could not find a way of ordering the PA as an upgrade to my ...

Is this the latest P2 release for the Apache Special Production Run Hermes 14 bit?

I have ordered one and would like to try it with SDR Console which requires P2.

Re: ANAN-10 TX spurs
Indeed Scott. In my defense I use modern instruments at work every day and so I had all but forgotten about these limitations. I bought the HP 8562A as I have started to use microwave bands and needed to know what I was transmitting. I had no way of knowing what was happening on 10368 MHz and so it ...

Well how embarrassed am I? The spurs are from the HP-8562A! Here is what it looks like with a proper spectrum analyser, as I expected it to be. https://www.dropbox.com/s/jjfk3yeydxotg5d/ANAN-10%2011W_CW_SPURS_300Hz_RBW.jpg?dl=1 I am not ashamed to admit that I am wrong. 73 Conrad PA5Y

I used an HP8562A however for the IC-7300 I used an E4406B, I'll re-do the ANAN-10 with the E4406B in a while.

Re: ANAN-10 TX spurs
As promised IC-7300 at 100W CW. I had to use a better instrument with an even lower RBW to see what was going on. I used peak hold for 30 seconds. I think that the standards are woefully inadequate by amateur weak signal standards. That's why suburban amateurs hear loads of noise. Equipment may be c...

Of course there are.
The budget IC7300 is better than this. Tomorrow I will do some plots. It is difficult in a superhet but not so difficult from a DAC. It can be solved I am sure of that.

ANAN-10 TX spurs
Hello all. I have an ANAN-10 that I intend to use on 6m with an SSPA and with 144 and 432 transverters which will be used on the intended band and as drivers for microwave transverters. There are lot of RX spurs on 28 and 50 MHz but that is the subject of a separate topic. I will concentrate on in b...

ANAN-10 PA IMD performance
Using 2 Tone testing I am a little surprised at the two tone performance of the ANAN-10 at 8W. The TX output however is very good so I wonder if I have a bad PA? Here are some images: First 28 MHz from the TX out with the PA disabled this is at the same level that produces 8W PEP in later measuremen...
