Re: Flex finally offers adaptive predistortion linearization in their new 8000 series
Some guy in NJ put adaptive predistortion in a Flex 5000 years ago. I figured they'd catch up before now.

Honestly, until there is some formal update from Apache-Labs, from Abhi, Tony or someone in the know at least, I would be very very wary of sending them any money or placing any orders. In my opinion I would assume the worst and prepare yourself for loss if you have sent them funds already. I read ...

Re: Balanced Tx echo/reverb
I use external audio gear and had this issue. Its always been RFI. I've had good luck using AM and an oscilloscope to troubleshoot and verify it's been fixed. Monitor the scope while increasing the carrier. You'll see the waveform get fuzzy when the RF starts to creep in. Swap cables, add ferrite, r...

It doesn't need it to function, but can puresignal make more accurate corrections if only forward power is being sampled?

I used an AMD FX series processor with mine for years. It ran around 25 to 30% system load. What you have will be fine. The Ryzen 9 5950x machine I use now runs around 1% system load.

I don't know where to find top shelf sma cables but it isn't critical. The ones I bought from Amazon seem to be good quality. Read the reviews.
My puresignal jumper consists of around 60 feet of lmr400, an antenna switch to select the amp amplifier and some Amazon sma cables at each end.

Turn the drive down enough that your power supply doesn't fall on it's face when you click the tune button. That doesn't make sense. If you calibrated both rigs from that signal generator, they should both read the same signal strength. Your signal generator is set to -77dbm, but if you ran the calibration in Thetis at -73 that's what the signal meter in Thetis should read. I'd still try different firmwar...

The S meter used to bug me too. It took a couple of years to get over it and I still leave it on average. The Anan agrees with my HP signal generator across a wide range but it just didn't feel right. You can use the panadapter and peak blobs to give you the readings you want, but you'll have to con...

Hi, why not use the Equalizer? IMHO the low filters (for RX and TX) are sharp enough. The eq works good enough. I was curious about the mechanics of it. Thanks. Would it be difficult to make the low cut audio filter work on AM for both RX and TX? Something tells me this may just be how SDR AM works. For RX on SSB we can adjust the high and low ends of the filter, but only the high end can be adjusted for AM. A friend recently discovered the low cut filter d...

Re: Amp for 7000 DLE MKII and AM.
Most amplifiers will handle AM just fine as long as you are realistic about the output level. Ameritron is a good example of a manufacturer with optimistic ratings. The al80b that's advertised as a kw amp is good for 125 to 150 watts carrier. My rule of thumb for buzzardly AM with a linear is run th...
