Re: Thetis v2.8.11 - current issues
Yep I am not sure if we can set a bit to stop the rear PTT output. I checked the code quickly and all that seem to be available is TXRX relay, and the PA. I'll poke Doug to find out more, and if that fails add some checkboxes to OC to bypass when TUN/2TON. Recommend these be two different checkboxe...

Andrew,
I just use a 40-inch 4K TV as a monitor, given that I'm only using 30 Hz refresh I certainly don't need a high speed monitor, and TVs are much less expensive than monitors.

Re: Over the Air Rumors and lack of Thetis updates???
In this thread I keep seeing rather alarmist statements regarding a "lack of updates" but there are no specifics mentioned, simply the assertion that "people expect updates". When I bought my 7000 I knew there was a possibility that there may be no updates coming. That didn't mat...

Re: Coupler Solutions
Nick, My homebuilt sampler is also pure resistive (18K ohms). I used that approach because 1) it's fairly linear (i.e., independent of frequency) and 2) to avoid any potential for undesired influence of inductive or capacitive reactance on PureSignal's operation. My memory is dim now but I probably ...

Re: How to solve latency problems and VAC under/overflows in Windows 10
Scott, I want to share an idea I'm investigating. It has to do with tweaking the values in the boxes underneath the "Force" options in the VAC window. While playing with buffer sizes and pushing the envelope for minimum latencies, I was curious whether setting an optimal value in the boxes...

Hi, Will the windows 10 update revert the "Throttling Index" back to the original setting, do we need to check this periodically? Thanks very much for your help. Thanks, Joe WD5Y I got a Windows update yesterday, Throttling Index is still where I set it earlier in the week (ffffffff). Mark

Re: Thetis 2.8.11 Released!
That behavior is by design. The only safe approach is for the ATT value to always revert to 31 anytime PS is started (or restarted) after being deactivated. That way the PS receiver is assured of minimum input signal strength to start with, given that the system has no way of knowing ahead of time h...

Re: Wait begins....
Thanks Scott, I guess that was a moot question in retrospect because I just checked and learned that all of the new (11th gen) Intel i3, i5 and i7 are hyperthreaded anyway (I didn't bother checking the i9 but I'd be gobsmacked to find out that any of those aren't also hyperthreaded). ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

Re: Wait begins....
Scott, I've noticed you make that statement elsewhere (Thetis likes cores). I also have plans to upgrade in about a year so here's my question: Strictly from a Thetis standpoint, is hyperthreading per se any great advantage? In other words, would 8 physical cores hyperthreaded (16 virtual cores) mak...

Re: How to solve latency problems and VAC under/overflows in Windows 10

Re: Band Stacking and AGC Settings
AGC (and a number of other) settings aren't band stack specific, they're saved with Transmit Profile. Whatever TX profile is associated with your CW mode will contain your AGC settings. So select the Transmit Profile you want to use for CW, adjust the AGC settings to your liking then re-save that Tr...

Re: VAC under/overflows due to changes in how Windows handles Timer resolution
Scott,
FWIW my VAC settings are 256 buffers and 48K sample rate, ASIO (0/0 Ringbuffers and 0/0 PortAudio as noted earlier).
Just curious, may I ask why you decided on 96K sample rate?
TIA,
Mark

Tony,
I'm at work right now so I can't verify, but I don't think there's anything else running on my system that might be controlling audio.
I do know that Windows Sound Scheme is set to "No Sounds". Maybe that's relevant, I dunno..

Given that PureSignal is such a game-changer in terms of cleanness of signal, I'm at a complete loss to understand why none of the Big Three have yet incorporated the feature, especially given that the code is (per my understanding) open source.

Scott, Thank you for the comments. And you're right, sometimes I really don't mind the artifacts (I rather liken it to subdued underwater gurgles) and I have observed that increasing the S-ATT suppresses the gurgles. And you're also right, in that sometimes I'd rather just turn off NR and listen to ...

Re: Noise Burst on initial transmit
Stu,
Good thinking, but putting a disconnect relay on the mic won't help because the problem is caused by delayed audio still coming out of the speakers after the PTT is pressed.
The solution would be for a relay to disconnect the speakers on PTT.
