Re: Red square, green square

Well, in the immediate answer, I have a fix. Not sure if it is the correct fix but it works now. If I need an education on how Muzychenko's Virtual Audio Cable works, I'm all ears. I don't have a diagram but I have my ANAN out in my shack, connected to a computer and network about 45 feet away from ...

Re: Red square, green square

If you could previously hear RX audio through your headphones but can't any longer, you've changed something in the VAC settings and need to revisit your VAC Settings page. I have a folder of screenshots of every Settings page so if I ever fat-finger anything I can get back to the configuration tha...

Re: Red square, green square

Thanks Gary and that is what it was for reasons unknown. I didn't take a screenshot but it was quite out of sync. It's reading zeroes now and doing fine and the overflow box disappeared. Still don't have any sound to the headset from the computer. One thing I didn't add before was this is from the r...

Red square, green square

Just below VAC1, is this little red square, green square. I have Virtual Audio Cable installed and using Line 1 for transmit receive and Thetis is displaying reception on the spectrum. image (24)~2.png I'm using MRP40 and it will transmit CW using it, also lined up with using Line 1 for audio but li...

Scott,

I believe it does.

If and when it occurs again, I'll get a snap of the Thetis spectrum.

Unexplained noise on several bands

Sometimes when shifting modes and/or bands, I'm seeing this noise. There is no rhyme or reason to it and seems to affect 30 meters the worst. I have not seen it above 15 meters. When noted, I simply turn Thetis off and then back on, problem goes away. Is this a corrupt database and need to rebuild o...

Re: Interfacing with the Heathkit SB-230 and ANAN 7000 DLEMKII

One other question.

In transmit, where is the setting for TX or PTT delay? I saw for CW the transmit delay was set to 300 ms.

In some reading, I'm finding recommendations for anywhere from 15 to 30 ms for TX Delay.

Is there a separate tab for the actual PTT delay time?

Re: Interfacing with the Heathkit SB-230 and ANAN 7000 DLEMKII

Received the Ameritron 704 today.

Whew!

Works like a charm. I am a happy ham now. Can't wait to fire up some serious power now with the key. Huge lesson learned and avoided a major disaster.

To all, Thanks for the inputs.

Thanks for the check.

I'll be getting the interface buffer in a day or two. Hopefully this'll be the ticket.

Re: Interfacing with the Heathkit SB-230 and ANAN 7000 DLEMKII

Thanks, Scott.

I should have it in a day or two.

I'm still concerned about the 11 ohms. For any continuity measurement, that, to me would be out of spec. I'd expect less than .5, no more than 1 ohm.

Re: Interfacing with the Heathkit SB-230 and ANAN 7000 DLEMKII

I'm learning more and more about this amp. Yes, it was modified and this is what I have. It is a Russian GU-34 amplifier built into a Heath SB-230 case using the same power transformer and RF deck that the SB-230 used. It has GI-46 tube installed. If I need to get the interface relay for this, I wil...

Re: Interfacing with the Heathkit SB-230 and ANAN 7000 DLEMKII

First, to answer your tests in regards to the relay on the amp and two the PTT on the radio. No, the radio is not damaged. in receive, the PTT out reads infinity and when keyed, reads 11 ohms. Not sure what the parameter is for this but it does not read zero.  The amp relay closes when shorted acros...

Interfacing with the Heathkit SB-230 and ANAN 7000 DLEMKII

I recently acquired a Heathkit SB-230 and the previous owner used it with an Icom IC-7300. Worked wonderfully. Educate me where I'm possibly missing a step. I have Ant1 going to the input of the amp. Output to an SWR meter and then into a dummy load (until I can assure myself this is working). I hav...

Re: RX Level Calibration

I agree, Scott. One, it will let me better understand the process of the level calibration with this rig and two, it will ensure that the S meter is where it should be. I will have to probe the locals for a good, calibrated signal generator.

Re: RX Level Calibration

Didn't even get that far with the battery.

Guess I'll never understand Gremlins. Reset the database and levels were back to normal. S Meter doesn't show that S5 level noise any more.

Thanks for the tips and off to work on re-building this database.

Re: RX Level Calibration

I will attempt the database from a fresh perspective first. Beyond that, I will have to acquire a well regulated, calibrated signal generator if the default calibration standard replacement proves no change. The power supply is a switching supply from Samlex Model 1235. The signal is being seen from...

RX Level Calibration

I noted the other day, when I had my rig (7000DLE MKII) connected to a dummy load, tuned to the 40m band, I had an S5 level of noise. I went to all of the other bands and the S level was 0. Is there something that I should've done on receipt of this rig to ensure all bands were receiving properly an...

Re: Packet Radio ?

I do not get the yellow flashes. That could be indicative of a slow switch back to receive. Scott, I agree. I am wondering if the relay isn't releasing fast enough. What did you change to get this far? You talked about the under and overflows so I started making adjustments to the latency to make t...

Success! I have made two videos. One using the FT-450D and the other one using the 7000. In the 450, note the left gauge for audio input stays green the whole time during transmit and receive. https://youtu.be/MzyEaQLH9JE Using the 7000, note the flicker of yellow between transmit/receive on the lef...

Re: Packet Radio ?

Okay, got an ear on the output and it all looks great, sounds great too. Here's what I think is happening. When I had the FT-450D in line, I noticed that when it would go from transmit to receive, the listen time was greater than what this 7000 is doing. Is that done in the Port Audio Buffers? I not...

Port Audio device is not available.

I've tried to go back to the other TX profile but that didn't change anything.

Re: Packet Radio ?

Follow my recommendations as previously written in my post above. You even quoted them. You want to get them as small as possible. You have to do this by ear, you must route the audio to your PC speakers or headphones. If you are using Voicemeeter this is easy. If you are using Muzy VAC you'll have...
