Re: cmASIO and DAW issue?

Very interesting and important points being made here. I, for one, had no idea that the wisdom file was PC specific! :o Well, I have no idea of a lot of things that make Thetis such a uniquely positioned platform in the world of ham-radio 8-) !

Re: cmASIO and DAW issue?

Mark,

Good to hear from you, but I am confused. Install Thetis that generates that file BUT I need to delete it...... :? Why would Thetis generate it IF that degrades the performance of Thetis?

Re: cmASIO and DAW issue?

The Digital Mixer enables use of more than one ASIO instance which is one of the reasons that I bought one. So, I have no need whatsoever for Voicemeeter or VB anything and just love the way things sit.

Thanks!

Re: cmASIO and DAW issue?

Scott,

I sure value your comments. :)

My 2 main audio chains are as follows:

1. Thetis->
External Analog Mic-pre/EQ ->
Digital Mixer/Audio Interface (Soundcraft which comes with native VST plug-ins, too) ->
Live Professor 2 (DAW)

2. This is the same as above except, I have taken the DAW out and ...

cmASIO and DAW issue?

I exchanged messages with Bryan - W4WMT - several months ago, asking him about use of cmASIO and Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) when processing audio. He is, I would imagine, part of the group having written some of the code, I don't know. Bryan, I hope you don't mind me bringing up your name ...

FS: ANAN 7000 DLEMKII (SOLD)

Love the 7000 DLE MKII so much that I acquired another one so I have now two of them. Decided to sell the latest acquisition (1st owner bought it new in July/August 2022) as I want to buy another "toy." Cosmetically, it is 9.5/10 and I will provide more detail along with more pictures to serious ...

Re: IMPORTANT: different firmware for 7000DLE MKIII/Andromeda/8000MKII hardware shipped after 1 January 2023

Scott,

I did, but I am still confused and can't figure out which FPGA the radio has in it. From what I read, the physical radio must have "MKIII" printed on it for the Orion board to have the Cyclone V FPGA on it! However, from earlier exchanges with Doug several months ago, he opined that the ...

Scott,

I am confused with regard to which ANAN 7000 DLE radios come with the Cyclone V FPGA installed? ALL radios after
July 1st, 2022?

Would sure appreciate more CLARITY on this and, apologies, if the answer to my question has already been answered!

Hi Roger,

Re: Different versions of P2 firmware causing this?

Rick,

I value your time.

Incidentally, I noticed - upon additional testing - that on 10 and 17 (from memory) I do see the 2 "spurs" when the amp is not in line when I transmit a carrier, using "TUN". None to be seen when I was on 40, 20 or 15. But, again, the experiment with SDRPlay in line did ...

Re: Different versions of P2 firmware causing this?

Hi Rick,

Very curious and intrigued by your response.

NOTE:
I do not see any of those "spurs" when I run bare-foot! As soon as I put the amp in line, I do see them. The spurs aren't there when I put my other 7000 in line. Perhaps, I give this version a shot, just the same ;) ! My problem is that I ...

UPDATE:
Note that the "spurs" I have been alluding to appear around 15kHz above and below my actual TX frequency (regardless of whether I am on SSB or CW). They don't appear when operating barefoot, only when the amp is in line.

Warren emailed me in March a couple of times (see relevant partials ...

Just wondered if Apache-Labs currently ships from Australia? Not that it helps all that much in terms of tariffs. Re: Different versions of P2 firmware causing this?

Scott,

Your consistent feedback is very much appreciated. Will look at the math in detail.

When I am talking S-9/+40dB, I am referring mostly to local contacts on 40m where I am extremely strong, on receivers with calibrated S meters. On 20, I also do get very strong signal reports, +30dB every ...

Thetis showing incorrect FW version

I was pulling my hair out over an odd problem that had to do with flashing the correct firmware onto my ANAN 7k. When I received my box (my 2nd 7k), it merely showed FW v2.2.2 which is designed to work with the MKII model if I understand correctly. The FW it actually had on it was either v2.2.2A or ...

Scott,

I use CAT8 (overkill) cables. Put in radio #1 in line this morning and all works very well. Using an unmanaged Ethernet switch (have been for more than 3 years now) capable of 1 GBit/s speed.

With regard to P2 FW, I tried several of them. Radio #2 had been running well on FW v2.2.2 for ...

I already had FW v2.2.2 P2 on radio #1 and it didn't really work very well. Will roll radio #2 back to FW v2.1.18 P2 and see if that makes any difference. With regard to both radios looking "similar," I want them both looking as radio #1 does currently.

Update:
I guess radio #2 does ...

Different versions of P2 firmware causing this?

I have two 7000 DLE MKII radios and I believe both have the same FPGA ( EP4CGX150F896 Cyclone IV series FPGA) in them as well although I am not 100% certain. One radio runs on FW v2.1.18 P2 ("radio #1" in the screen-capture below) and radio #2 runs on FW v2.2.2 P2. Note, I tried FW v2.2.2 on radio ...

Re: Mini PC vs Desktop/Mid-Tower PC

Valid points Scott and I will be doing more research in cyberspace. Plenty of information can be had there. The reason I posted on this forum was mainly because that new PC will be a dedicated ANAN machine and I might get some more "relevant" input here. As I now have 2 ANAN 7000 DLE MKIIs perhaps ...
