Maybe you fixed the problem when you reconnected the pins. I seem to recall reading that there could be issues using the front panel controls to control Thetis on the pc. I don't know if that has been updated to not be an issue anymore.

Re: G2 Updated files and simplified update procedure
I updated the FPGA in my Ultra just yesterday from Laurence's Github page.
No issues with the front panel display. Maybe a setting that your friend was using previously has changed?

I use a stereo splitter cable with female RCA connectors on each side of the split. That way I have PTT in for my handheld PTT switch and the other for PTT output to Key an amplifier.

Scott, the G1 doesn't come with a front panel. Just the G2 series.

Re: vac audio just quits ?
If you loose audio with VAC unchecked, then you have a settings issue. If you have edited the Registry with the correct entry for your interface and in Windows Sound settings, you have selected the USB interface for Audio input and output, it should work. VAC is not needed for cmASIO to work.

Are you using VAC to connect to other software? If not, I would suggest leaving it unchecked. cmASIO with your Foucsrite is all you need unless you are also using software like FT8.

From your description of the problem it sounds to me like a hardware problem. Possibly the encoder is causing this. You may need to contact Apache Labs to get it resolved.

Being that Apache labs doesn't actually provide software support other than pre-installing the firmware and operating system for the G2 radios you are now experiencing what some people would consider the downside of using radios that depend on open source software and developers.

Noise reduction 2 in Thetis has some settings you can change that will improve how well it works. You may need to experiment with them a bit to find what works best in your location.

Re: Distortion When Using Voicemeeter Potato and Thetis
Scratch my comments about not using Voicemeeter Potato's ASIO driver. ( it's getting late) I think you have a problem with a Voicemeeter Potato setting somewhere. Especially if everything works correctly when you use just the Personus ASIO driver. Hopefully, someone more experienced with Voicemeeter ...

Re: Distortion When Using Voicemeeter Potato and Thetis
Having only tested Potato a few times myself, I would think that you would still be able to route your audio to Voicemeeter Potato and still continue to use the Personus ASIO driver. And that you wouldn't have to use Voicemeeter's virtual ASIO driver.

I just checked my G2 Saturn Ultra and it puts out a solid 100 watts on all bands into a dummy load. It was like this from the factory. Open the menu in PiHPSDR and select Transmit. Be sure that the checkbox Tune use Drive is selected. Also Tune drive level is set to 100.

Re: Distortion When Using Voicemeeter Potato and Thetis
Does it do it if you disable the connection to Potato and just route the audio through the Windows System/Sound settings? That might reveal if the problem is with settings in Potato or how you have setup your cmASIO driver in the Registry.

Sounds like you are going to have quite a challenge. I have not looked at the latest source code. Re: What is a G1?
Reading the specifications for the radio it is more like a 7000 MKII . No Raspberry Pi CM4 module so, it will have to do like the older models and emulate the Ethernet Protocol in the FPGA. Since it only mentions one ADC, it won't do Diversity Reception. It's more of a lower priced, single ADC 7000 ...

Not big enough to provide cooling. But, it allows inserting a small screwdriver ( or something thin) to move the bootloader switch back and forth.

Re: ANAN-10E (Revised) HF & 6M SDR Transceiver
Great, I got mine today earlier and already adjusted each band power. Very well built. LPF and output board great. Hermes falls short of this, as this 10-E is a complete radio.
Interesting comment. What makes the 10-E a complete radio compared to the Hermes? (I am assuming you are talking about ...
