Re: A few G2 hardware questions
Hi all, Can anybody confirm that that G2 has the TLV320AIC3204 codec implemented , and where on the PCB, and whether there is a direct jump point to pick up the line in pins e.g 13,14,15,16 . I cant seem to find any G2 circuit diagrams available. Looking at the physical board maybe J56 facilitates ...

Go check the auto AGC offsets, their behavior changed in the last update. You'll need to reset and find what works for you.

Dang, ok. That stinks because in all other aspects this EP4CE firmware has the best performance re transmit spectra, seq errors, etc etc. Thanks Scott.

I am also having an issue where when the radio has been operating for some time, then I close Thetis and come back and operate later....I seem to have very low RX signal level even if I change bands. I must physically power off the radio to recover normal signal levels.

I think I have this very same issue on the EP4CE 7000...not sure if we can take a look at that too. Usually it starts up on one frequency, then after transmitting it'll suddenly have a different frequency reference some 200 Hz off.

Running x64 Thetis v2.10.3.5 u2 on Win10 connected to ANAN-100B. Works pretty good. However, when I went to use the direct Watts tx slider recently, I noticed there is now a limit, and "over 69%" indicator placed on the main panel slider for 6m, i.e. a 70% -100% of FS red line and no valu...

What about every 10 kHz? A few months ago I've started getting similar interference, not from my house so it will be tough to track it down.

I just tested Richies latest Dev work and it indeed seems to be recording MIC audio now. A good test is to do a quick recording on one band, play it back to verify it, then switch to another band to see if it still plays. It does thus it couldn't be an IQ recording. Thanks Richie! NO, This does not fix the issue. This records the I/Q quadrature output, NOT THE TRANSMITTED AUDIO. This is insufficient and incorrect as a representation of the TX AUDIO.

I unfortunately suffer from a ton of line noise, specifically 60hz and 120hz fundamental broadband hash. Actually even worse than the video Scott linked, and even worse there are similar noises that I suspect are caused by neighboring SMPS... Regular NB1 works great for that, sometimes, because it's...

I hope not! Undoubtedly there are bound to be some die-hards, though. :? Not to be that guy, but I guess I'm that guy. CESSB works without adding "compression". I don't think it should be removed. Having done empirical testing, CESSB serves a separate function from the CFC. Perhaps it can...

G4MSA, If you go down that road I would like to participate. Apache Labs promised a replacement for this defective 7000 2.5 that they delivered to me while ago now. On the OC output for the pin I select, say 7, If I select TUNE on the drop down, on transmit using the TUN button in Thetis , pin 7 will go to ground and sink the voltage that was on pin 7 at the amp side to close to zero volts? Is that correct? Also what is keeping pins 1-4 from going to ground wi...

Has nothing to do with the PTT bypass on the 998. I have configured the OC's to only assert pin 6 when depressing TUN. Pin 6 and ground is connected to a pin on the MFJ-998 interface cable (I just used a basic ethernet cable and cut the end off), I can't remember exactly which but you can test and s...

Thought I'd chime in here, I have an EP4CE 7000. I don't have a sig gen that can do +0 dBm, only -17 dBm. So, I tested per the procedure but shifted down the levels. In = Signal at RX Bypass Out= Level seen on DUP panadapter In dBm vs. Out dBm -18 = -16.5 -20 = -18.3 -30 = -28.7 -40 = -38.6 -50 = -4...

Interesting this topic was resurfaced...I am having a heck of a conflict between thetis and the Wavenode meter software. Switching vs Linear supply, noise on carrier
I realize this is totally down in the noise, but what causes this?
On a high quality switching supply, I've noticed a little bit of noise on my carrier.
When on a big astron linear, it looks squeaky clean.

Re: Suggestions to improve PS operation on 7k DLE Mk2.5?
Thanks Rob, and Scott, for the info.
I measured the total draw in RX at 1.07 A, and when keyed with silence 3.4 A. I think that's pretty much in the ballpark, assuming 1A per device.
Do we know what the stock bias is meant to be on the recent 7000?
