Re: Andromeda transceiver info
I'm actually going to post about Andromeda. I have had the unit for around a year. Generally happy with it except for one issue. It overheats. The CPU gets terribly hot due to the finals and the radio has shut itself off multiple times. The cooling is simply inadequate. The radio gets burning hot to...

Re: no pihpsdr icon on G2
I forgot to mention, that several people on the Apache Labs Facebook page have received their new radios. Some with the front panel and a couple without it. One with the front panel was DOA. Others seem to be working fine. Just having to learn to navigate the Linux desktop and PiHPSDR. James WD5GWY...

Re: Orion vs Saturn - Pros and Cons of each
Scott, If they are preloading software onto the G2 hardware (and I'm guessing they are - you want the radio out of the box experience to be pleasant) - then they are a distributor according to the GPL2 and thus should also supply a link to the Raspian source some place. If you are supplying binaries...

Re: How do i configure my microphone Hardware on my g-2
Hi Laurence, I'm not at home so can't look - but I thought Thetis had a TCP/IP port for CAT now too similar to PiHPSDR?? There is also the utility socat under unix that could be used possibly for an application to catch the knobs/button pushes and send them to Thetis. I'm sure the piping of the info...

Re: Orion vs Saturn - Pros and Cons of each
It just occurred to me that Apache is likely to be supplying the Pi4 Compute module and Raspian software loaded along with their own software. If so - they will need to provide the Raspbian Source code on their web site to be GPL2 compliant. I don't imagine this will give them much heartburn since t...

Re: Angelia Build
Hi Jon and Mark, I built a radio out of the Red Pitaya that is documented. Please find the Wiki at https://github.com/ka6s/rp_adapter/wiki/Red-Pitaya-*-Rasbperry-Pi This was my FIRST radio AFTER building the TAPR board set. I initially tried using EB104 Bandpass filters and they had a huge insertion...

Re: Perhaps my problem belongs most closely to 'Rig Control...Software'
Dick, You use Com0Com to make PAIRS of ports. You are creating a virtual Com cable with Com0Com. You add 1 side of the connection to the application (SWR software I presume) and the other side of the pair to Thetis via the CAT form in Setup. Likely you also need to tell the Application what radio yo...

Re: Thetis and TRX-Duo works
I was looking deeper into this. It appears that 60dbm.com has everything necessary to package a 100 watt radio either on the their website or ebay. I also have seen some discussion of using Pure Signal by providing feedback to RX2 input. Have you found anything it does not do compared to the 7000 t...

Re: Thetis and TRX-Duo works
The Red Pitaya code provided by Pavel can already control an external LPF/BPF... likely you would use I2C. The original design was built to control ALEX! When the Codec comes along, the ALEX port is replaced by the I2S port, but I2C is also available. There have been several solutions with I2C contr...

Re: Andromeda???
Yes - I have an Andromeda - and I received about the time you made your order. Note that I waited 13 months for mine. However - their shipping times seem to have come down to the 8 week time frame. I've seen some folks on the Facebook page receiving their orders lately.

Re: No Output power when WSJT-X Tune button is activated
Scott, I've used com0com for multiple previous radio setups - but for whatever reason - it isn't playing nice on my Andromeda. That is why I'm using VSPManager... I've also switched as many of my applications over to TCP/IP as I can! As a side note - I saw that you were looking at the Fork of PiHPSD...

Re: No Output power when WSJT-X Tune button is activated
I should also add that I'm now using RTS signaling for PTT instead of depending on a TX command from CAT serial communications.

Re: No Output power when WSJT-X Tune button is activated
I had a similar situation occur. What I found was that the PTT signaling from WSJT wasn't getting through to Thetis. I had it on CAT. My conclusion was that the Virtual Serial Cables got messed up some how. I wound up taking them all down, cleaning out and re-installing the VSP Manager that I'm usin...

Re: CAT over TCP/IP rocks! And so does Hamlib!
When we built CAT for PiHPSDR - TCP/IP was the first choice because we didn't have pins left on the Raspberry PI to talk to a serial port while also talking to buttons and knobs. The first iteration could handle 3 connections - that seemed like enough and was emulating the multiple serial port conne...

Re: Andromeda on 2.9.0.6 stopped transmitting
I think I have figured out the issue - the Virtual Com ports decided to get messed up. The PTT from the application isn't getting through.

Andromeda on 2.9.0.6 stopped transmitting
I am running Thetis 2.9.0.6 on an Andromeda. I was using FT8 - the radio had been working for some time in this mode. I hit Tune on FT8 to key the radio and the radio didn't transmit a signal. Thetis is indicating it is transmitter mode, but the is no carrier from the Audio injection (this is USB) a...

Re: Thetis 2.9.0.x not seeing Touch events on Andromeda
Sigi, Thanks so much for the education! However - you weren't quite on the mark - close! I had contacted Laurence and K'jell and asked them the same question. They both duplicated my setup locally and didn't find any misbehavior in Thetis - so then I got to thinking along Sigi's line. Found the Touc...

Re: Thetis 2.9.0.x not seeing Touch events on Andromeda
Scott - thanks for trying - but that merely enables the buttons/knobs apparently.
If I unset the "Enable Panel" that stops the buttons and knobs from working.
Edit Controls allows you to change the button/knob command functions - which I'm leaving alone for now.
Thanks,
Steve

Thetis 2.9.0.x not seeing Touch events on Andromeda
I am now the proud owner of a couple week-old Andromeda system. I upgraded from 2.8.11that came with the radio (and understood touch events on the Thetis application). Now all that works are the buttons/knobs of the Andromeda front panel and Mouse clicks. Thetis doesn't see touch-screen based manipu...

It took about 10 days to get from VK land to California. I paid $44.75 in duty to get it past US customs. Shipping was DHL - who d...
