Scott / Mark,
Thanks to both of you for chiming in. Other life commitments have gotten in the way of ham radio but I have taken the time to separate the 7000 from all other equipment so all that is attached is power, a bonding wire, the Ethernet cable from the shack PC and a coax cable to the dummy ...

Re: What causes the squiggly Pure Signal Amp View?
Mark,
Thanks for the reply. I have also read the comment about some amps not liking some two-tone frequency combinations. In my case though, there is no external amp involved and I've tried many different frequency combinations. If I drive an external amp (Elecraft KPA500 or Collins 30L-1) and use ...

Mark,
Great idea! I was so fixated on the changing two-tone graphs. Here's 75 meters voice at 54 watts peak:

Re: What causes the squiggly Pure Signal Amp View?
Here's a correction to a conclusion I came to in my original post.
I concluded that the changes I see in my Amp View when doing a two-tone calibration was caused by cycling power on my radio. That is not correct. While doing additional testing, I discovered the Amp View plot changes when I cycle ...

What causes the squiggly Pure Signal Amp View?
On occasion, my 7000 MKIII experiences an odd looking Amp View when doing a two tone P.S. calibration. I have seen other examples of this sort of Amp View by others but always with a different twist than I am seeing. Here's my normal Amp View on 80 meters, external (or internal) coupler at 50 watts ...

Re: External feedback level calculations
Scott,
Thanks for your thoughts. You confirmed my thoughts. I don't have appropriate test equipment but will put the scope on the coupler tap to confirm that level. PS is working well, I could just not worry about it but that's not my nature HI HI. Do you know what the coupling factor is for the ...

Re: External feedback level calculations
Scott,
It's been a long time but I now have the LP-100A in place. Before ordering the wattmeter, I discussed the coupler tap with Larry and requested -47 dB output. I'm confident that's what I have but have not actually measured the output. I may need to do that. I ordered -47 instead of -50 ...

Re: External feedback level calculations
Scott,
Thanks for the reply and advice. Pure Signal with just the radio performs admirably. I'll go ahead and order the wattmeter with the special coupler that provides the additional -50dB output. In case anyone ever reads this, the wattmeter is an LP-100A that has an optional coupler ...

Re: External feedback level calculations
Scott,
I understand the calculations at the beginning of this thread. I'm in the process of buying a wattmeter and have the option of a coupler with an additional -50dB port for PS. My radio is a 7000DLE MKIII. Here's my dilemma.
I assume my radio has a 14dB pre-amp before the ADC. Working ...

Re: LOOKING FOR ALPHA TESTERS for ANAN-7000/Andromeda EP4CE and 5CEFA FPGA firmware update
Rick,
Since I posted the original observation, I'd be happy to help out. Test equipment and knowledge is limited though. I have a 5CEFA MkIII.
Thanks,
Tom - NS8K

Whew, what a relief! Many thanks to Chris, Sam, Scott and especially Rick. Looking forward to the updated firmware. Now, I can move off of QSK and continue setup. I'll definitely sleep better tonight!

Re: No RF Output in QSK
I'm at my wit's end with this, trying to figure out if I have a hardware, software, firmware or ordinary cockpit problem here. The radio is a 7000 Mk3 that was received from India on 2/7/23. It came with Firmware Ver 2.1.7 installed and is on Protocol 2 (v3.9). Thetis was at Ver 2.9.0.3 and I ...

Re: WinKeyer USB
Tim,
I know this thread is dated but I had the same desire as you, connect a K1EL Winkeyer to the front panel key jack. It didn't work. The solution turned out to be rather simple.
First, the cable. The output of the WinKeyer is an RCA jack. Center pin is the keying signal, shield is ground. The ...

No RF Output in QSK
Hello to all. I just received my 7000 MkIII a few days ago. Very new to this. I have discovered that when I select QSK, I have no RF output. If I switch to Semi, output is fine. I have the custom AGC settings as described in the manual and various posts. I've not found a setting that relates to this ...
