Re: Sequence errors during transmit
Jay--AFAIK, you are the only person with the most recent FPGA that has reported an intractable problem with a GigE connection. I am also having the problem with my MKIII. It just started a few weeks ago, and was concerned it was a windows OS update issue, but it seems like this is more about the FP...

Re: Saturn: A New Apache Labs SDR Transceiver (ANAN-G2)
The more I think about this the more I have to laugh. The original OpenHPSDR architecture was modular and backplane based, which to some degree provided an upgrade path, a way to handle obsolescence at a potentially lower cost, and avoidance of vendor lock-in. By integrating everything into one boar...

Re: Saturn: A New Apache Labs SDR Transceiver (ANAN-G2)
The big problem with the Orion architecture is that it is seriously limited in that the "protocol" is implemented in a very difficult to change FPGA. A change for example to a potential "protocol three" would require the support of very good FPGA developers, and as we know they a...

Re: Saturn: A New Apache Labs SDR Transceiver (ANAN-G2)
A technical concern comes to mind this morning: how will safe Pi shutdown be achieved on units that are headless? Just slamming the power off tends to lead to SD card corruption. I have had pretty good luck with embedded Linux due to the journaling file systems available and taking some measures su...

Re: Saturn: A New Apache Labs SDR Transceiver (ANAN-G2)
Won't Saturn quickly cannibalize sales of other products like the 7000DLE? What does it matter? Apache Labs gets the sale regardless. Mark Well I would think that any interest in the community supporting a radio with little to no further sales or EOL announcement would diminish rapidly. Trying to f...

Re: Saturn: A New Apache Labs SDR Transceiver
IMO cutting over to Xilinx is an excellent choice. Using PCIe is a no-brainer, and the Raspberry PI is interesting, but there are a lot of choices for that portion of the system. Could have maybe used a Zynq and PetaLinux, but understand the design choice of the PI. One area that I would be concerne...

Re: LOOKING FOR ALPHA TESTERS for ANAN-7000/Andromeda EP4CE and 5CEFA FPGA firmware update
Hi Rick,
I can do some functional testing. I have a 5CEFA MKIII.
Out of curiosity are you using prime or II for development?

Re: Sequence errors during transmit
Any more insight into the next FPGA firmware drop? I know that Rick, N1GP, is working on a new drop for the second and third FPGA revisions in order to fix the QSK bug. There is no schedule for this, and since the code for the MAC and PHY interface on the FPGA will not be touched there's no expecta...

Re: Sequence errors during transmit
I am going to try a PS test today. Hopefully if I get time. Are any of you guys operating with a new mk3 chip and had any success?
