Re: Dynamic vs. Condenser Microphone

Sure. Feel free to email me anytime. We are all learning together. I intend on running both radios once I eventually get my Anan. That’s why I put a good bit of effort in this but it’s been really enjoyable to me too.

Re: Dynamic vs. Condenser Microphone

Ok. I have the line out connected to an audio isolation transformer ($10) and from there into this adapter… http://www.vibroplex.com/contents/en-us/p3313.html My Presonus 26C has line outs in the back. I used a 1/4 inch balanced TRS connector to a step down 1/8 into the transformer and from there in...

Re: Dynamic vs. Condenser Microphone

I didn’t know anything about this other than reading what Scott has and listening to his advice. I ended up with a AT2020 condenser mic, and a Presonus 26c that provides ASIO drivers for future CW needs when I get my Anan. The audio interface provides excellent line level audio out and balanced inpu...

Re: Microphone/ Audio Interface Options

I can’t get my 26c to bring up the mixer in universal control. It does nothing when you click it…. But…. I got my line output correct for my 7610. It has plenty of audio. I added the noise gate in Studio One to eliminate background noise and it is working fantastic to my radio. This is really terrif...

Re: Microphone/ Audio Interface Options

Ahh. This is the piece I knew I was missing but didn’t know what it was. I will tinker with this later today. I did get JBL studio monitors and they sound fabulous. I had some EQ software already and that with those speakers is unreal what you can do with music. I’ll reroute radio audio through it w...

Re: Microphone/ Audio Interface Options

Speaking of this. I’m trying to get my Presonus 26c line out to connect to my icom 7610. It has very low audio level but not sure why. I’m using an isolation transformer but I thought the line level would be enough output to drive the mic input. Do I use Studio One to set levels???? Needing any advi...

Re: ANAN-G2 HF & 6M 100W ULTRA HIGH PREFORMANCE SDR

I’m not sure how many were ordered but I personally know several others who have ordered so I expect the sales to be decent already. I hope they come out relatively soon.

Re: ANAN-G2 HF & 6M 100W ULTRA HIGH PREFORMANCE SDR

I ordered one but changed mine to the 1K version which they allowed me to do, so other than the existing 500W orders, I’m in that first group too. Meanwhile my IC-7610 is a workhorse and will keep me going until this arrives. I’m using both radios anyhow when it arrives.

73 everyone,

Re: SO2R TX audio with mixed rigs help

This is great info. The impetus for this thought came from which mic to select for my headset. In other words, is there a good mic type that serves the audio needs for both Thetis and the 7610? For optimum audio for ssb conversations, I would have dedicated gear for Thetis. For SO2R contesting, I’m ...

SO2R TX audio with mixed rigs help

I am interested in incorporating my Anan (whenever it arrives) into a SO2R setup. This presents a bit of audio challenge considering my other radio is an Icom 7610. It basically only allows for mic input. So…. For one headset/mic going into a Presonus 24C…. Getting Thetis to work is zero trouble, bu...

Re: 1000 watt protection

Absolutely Mark. 1 KW is a big big deal. I am hoping they successfully pull this off because it’s an incredible opportunity and likely where other mainline manufacturers will go at some point but I too am interested in the cooling and subsequent noise related to it.

Re: 1000 watt protection

I was certain there is some level of protection. But there is a big difference between 100W and 1Kw tolerances most of the time. In any case, I’m extremely interested in this new radio for a lot of reasons. This is a massive development. 73 to all.

1000 watt protection

Since there is now going to be a high power version of the Saturn… Does anyone know what protection for high swr and high current there will be for this radio? Solid state amps at the KW and above level can be damaged extremely quickly even when you think you have resonant antennas. Without an autom...

Re: Introducing the ANAN-8000DLE MKII

Does anyone know what amount of power output fault protection this has? Any solid state PA at this level better have robust protection in the event of over current or high SWR. In the case of Apache, getting things repaired is a major concern and blown finals or LPFs will happen. I can’t decide whet...
