Re: PTT for K9DUR VoiceKeyer software

I use the K9DUR keyer sometimes, as you found out the only way to get PTT is to set a serial port in K9DUR and since this is a "virtual" port, make a pair in VSPE and use paired port in Thetis.

VSPE is worth the one time cost I think.

PTT for K9DUR VoiceKeyer software

I recently configured K9DUR's VoiceKeyer with Thetis v2.10.3.5.

In order to control PTT for VoiceKeyer, the manual states the following:

VoiceKeyer controls the radio PTT by toggling the DTR and/or RTS pins on a PC serial port.
Most commercially-available sound card interfaces sold for digital ...

You do want to plan on running dual NICs with one dedicated to the ANAN but you can do that on a PCIE board rather than on the motherboard.

I am planning to build a PC strictly for operating my Anan G2 and Flex 6600. Any advice on any (or all) of the following items is much appreciated. Re: TX audio - Rack gear to Anan G2 interface questions

Hard to say. You'll have to try it. As I already wrote, a lot of people have had trouble using the G2 balanced input even with just a microphone by itself. Interesting. My PR40 has been working with an XLR to TRS cable connected directly to the 'XLR' jack of the G2. I will look for some threads ...

TX audio - Rack gear to Anan G2 interface questions

I have read through quite a few threads about integrating analog audio into various Anan models and there seems to be a trend towards "just get rid of all that old rack gear, the Anan's internal capabilities are far superior in most cases" ... which I do not doubt. For operators like myself who are ...

Re: BCD output from OC interface

If you look at Joe's schematic, in your application you only need the 3.3K resistors and a source of 12VDC. You can leave out all the other resistors because you do not need adjustable pull-up voltage.

In my case, would the 3.3K resistors attach to the pins for Bands A, B, C, D, and RF Ground ...

Important! Remember to turn off your DC power supply when the radio is not in use. (Or the G2’s internal power supply will overheat due to the internal fan in the G2 not running when radio is in Off/Standby mode)

Are you sure about this? Did you read this somewhere else or have you experienced ...
