Re: MIDI Control Button to Toggle Xmit RF Drive
I was able to get Bome MIDI Translator to work to set RF Drive to 40W with a button press from my Hercules Controller. Wrestling with new software is a challenge. While this is a good thing, Thetis will only accept MIDI commands from one entity at a time so in MIDI Setup in Thetis I have to choose ...

Re: MIDI Control Button to Toggle Xmit RF Drive
Thanks for the CTUN fix. I agree that it is much more intuitive.

Activating the Checkbox "Ignore 14 bit messages" in the MIDI Configuration Setup Window fixes the freaking out while trying to program. The knobs and sliders now program as expected.

Re: MIDI Control Button to Toggle Xmit RF Drive
I am trying to program a Hercules DJControl Impulse 200 Mk2 in the MIDI Setup running Thetis v2.10.3.6. Buttons program perfectly to toggle functions on and off. I even got the button lights to work.

Re: MIDI Control Button to Toggle Xmit RF Drive
AFAIK, there are no MIDI mappings for "set power to a certain level". You can, of course, program a drive knob or slider, but no "presets".
I noticed in the WU2O video that when programming a button on the controller the min and max values are set to 0 and 127 as the button is toggled on and off ...

MIDI Control Button to Toggle Xmit RF Drive
I am not a terribly adept MIDI user. I have watched really good Youtube video posted by WU2O about programming a Hercules MIDI controller to work with PowerSDR and assume the technique demonstrated there also applies to programming that MIDI Controller in a Thetis environment.

Re: Can digital audio interface be used for mic input to Thetis Through Voicemeeter?
At this point I am getting 0dB on the speech peaks as described in Section 7.1 of the Thetis Manual by setting the TX Gain in VAC1 setting tab to +3dB with Presonus input turned all the way up just short of clipping and Voicemeeter A1 Analog Input fader at 0dB. I don't know where the 17dB setting ...

Re: Can digital audio interface be used for mic input to Thetis Through Voicemeeter?
Thank you for confirming what I assumed was the case.

Thanks for the explanation. It makes sense.

Re: Can digital audio interface be used for mic input to Thetis Through Voicemeeter?
I have routed A1 to B1 in Voicemeeter but get no audio from the mic on transmit even though the VU graphs on input A1 and output B1 in Voicemeeter show audio signal from the mic. In WSJT-X audio settings the Input is selected as Voicemeeter Out B1 and Output is selected as Voicemeeter Input. In ...

Can digital audio interface be used for mic input to Thetis Through Voicemeeter?
I am already successfully running Voicemeeter Banana to use both WSJT-X and fldigi. Is there a way to get Thetis to accept the output of the ...

Re: Super basic instructions for Voicemeeter and digi mode software audio connections
One thing leads to another. Now that I got WSJT-X and fldigi working using Voicemeeter, I can no longer use single sideband on the G2 since I can't get the microphone plugged into the XLR connector on the back of the G2 to deliver audio. Nothing in the hardware setup has changed except for putting ...

Re: Super basic instructions for Voicemeeter and digi mode software audio connections
The labeling of the Voicemeeter Ins and Outs is terribly misleading. Here is what actually works.
Thetis Audio Settings:
Input: Voicemeeter Out B1
Output: Voicemeeter In 2 (why this works instead of "Voicemeeter In" remains a mystery to me)
WSJT-X Audio Settings:
Input: Voicemeeter Out B2

Re: Super basic instructions for Voicemeeter and digi mode software audio connections
It may help but the diagram you sent shows that WSJT-X Input in WSJT-X Audio Settings is connected to something called "Voicemeeter AUX Output". Unfortunately there is nothing with that name in my Windows 11 Sound Control Panel or in the WSJT-X Audio Settings Input pulldown menu. Right now I have ...

Re: Super basic instructions for Voicemeeter and digi mode software audio connections
Still an issue if set up the way you suggest. You said the "'proper' way to set this up is to have WSJT-X assigned to one virtual channel for input and output, and Thetis assigned to other virtual channel. Then all mixing and routing is done in Voicemeeter." This does not seem possible since I don't ...

Re: Super basic instructions for Voicemeeter and digi mode software audio connections
OK so now Virtual Channel 1 (Voicemeeter Out B2) routed to B1 and Virtual Channel 2 (Voicemeeter AUX Input) routed to B2. Everything still works. Still trying to wrap my head around this.

B1 and B2 faders at 0dB. Now receiving in WSJT-X with both VAC and WSJT-X input settings at Voicemeeter Out B1.

Re: Super basic instructions for Voicemeeter and digi mode software audio connections
I am having trouble getting WSJT-X to work with Thetis v2.10.3.6 and WSJT-X. My Radio Settings in WSJT-X are good since the Test CAT and Test PTT both do what they are supposed to. The receive level meter in WSJT-X shows no signal. There is also no audio on transmit, just a solid tone. Here are ...

Re: Thetis Microphone Settings
Since I want to use the dbx 286s to provide condenser mic phantom power to me it makes sense to use the effects that are downstream in the dbx signal chain and basically a free bonus. Also I don't think I want to futz around with the preamp circuitry in the G2 to provide phantom power or change the ...

Re: Thetis Microphone Settings
I tried using my condenser mic into the dbx 286s preamp (to obtain the 48V phantom power) and the output of the dbx 286s into the G2 balanced XLR [sic] input with the G2 driving a dummy load. The only way it looks half decent on the Thetis waterfall display is if the input gain of the dbx 286s is ...

Re: Thetis Microphone Settings
The fact that the balanced input has a lot of gain would appear to restrict its use to microphones a practical matter and does not make sense to me. Balanced inputs (the "XLR" really TRS input on the G2) are often used in audio applications for line level signals out of preamps or mixers at levels ...

Yeah each Windows third party add on is unique. I like the t-shirt.
Since my G2 and Thetis are running well now I am subscribing to the philosophy of if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Thanks. I am using a dbx 286s preamp to provide phantom power to a condenser mic. The output of the dbx to the G2 is at line level so I don't want to overdrive the audio.

Re: G2 LAN speed and Computer to drive G2
Just a heads-up. Your suggestion of disabling unnecessary protocols included disabling Flow Control. When I did that Thetis froze and would not connect to the G2 when I restarted it. I re-enabled Flow Control. I had to restart both the computer and the G2 to have Thetis reconnect to the G2.

Disabling all of the unneeded ethernet protocols did the trick. No more sequence errors. I guess the dedicated direct connection between the NUC and the G2 is worthwhile.
Thanks!

I assume setting the WiFi to DHCP is done simply by checking the box "automatically configure empty options". I have done that. The WiFi is on ...
