Re: cmASIO feature in Thetis
I guess a solution would be to use speakers and a mic directly connected to the audio interface but currently cannot check as I miss the required adapter plugs. How have others solved the issue? Just staying with VAC and not using cmASIO? Any advise is appreciated. You know, I totally missed this p...

Re: No Mic input when plugged directly to the radio
ok, hooked up the VAC yet again. There is a definite echo. Not a feedback, but a straight up echo 2-3 seconds apart. That ain't RFI. This radio is hosed. I want a new one or my money back. AFAIK there is no failure mode of the any openHPSDR architecture hardware (Apache, Hermes Lite, whatever), fir...

So far, so good. What's in your registry?
Also, without Thetis running, please use Windows to monitor your Behringer mic input and let us know if you can hear it OK.

Re: No Mic input when plugged directly to the radio
Ok, here's the thing. I don't want to use VAC as I hear that sounded like crap too. If that's truly the case then you almost certainly have an RFI problem that is affecting the G2 and/or the mic setup you used with VAC. I don't know how to post a pic here as I don't have a URL to send it from. Look...

Re: No Mic input when plugged directly to the radio
I hate to suggest additional work on your part, and I agree that things should work right out of the box and not be so difficult. Nevertheless, here are a few things that might help narrow down the root cause of the problem. - Use the two-tone feature and ask people on the air if it sounds clean. Th...

Did you take a look at the thread I posted a link to? If not, take a look at this specific post: https://community.apache-labs.com/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=4863&start=30#p28793 You'll probably want to take a peak inside and see if you've got the latest revision balanced mic input board with the ...

Re: No Mic input when plugged directly to the radio
Ok, I got it. wow they added a LOT of stuff. I did check the XLR setting and I put the force XLR in the command line for p2app. The mic now works but the audio I'm told needs a lot of work. Very Hot and allegedly had an "echo'ey slap back". If I could see someone's settings that is using ...

Re: Remote Access to Anan
I have no clue what happened but I assume that it was related to a corrupted p2app. Apparently booting the RPi using a ssh window remotely within the same network will not boot the Saturn board and likely corrupted the p2app. It's very possible something in the file system was corrupt. However that...

Re: No Mic input when plugged directly to the radio
I don't have a G2. At one time the only way to get the balanced input to run was to manually edit the Pi startup script to add the command line switch for p2app. However, I believe that this function is now supported in Thetis, although on what setup screen I'm not certain. @laurencebarker what's th...

Rich--that should all work fine. However, be aware that not everyone has had good success with the balanced mic input. If you wind up having problems with that specific input I recommend you post in the G2 sub-forum here.

Re: Remote (virtualized) CW
Originally your question was about obtaining good, local sidetone with the ANAN (assumed by me to be) distant from the operating location. Now it's about using a Winkeyer with N1MM and the ANAN is at the operating location. Two different subjects. IMHO, using Winkeyer with N1MM is redundant. N1MM di...

Does this help? Yes, it helps. I also found the VK3 amp manual at this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EkT7psAOdiyIaU6_EPkZkUio2O7N60FJ/view Figure 1.3 in the amp manual shows the port on the amp incorrectly marked as "RS232". Again, it is not a serial port on the VK3 amp; every ot...

Re: 7000 DLE and 1KW VK3AMP hook up.
Begging on a forum never looks good ;) I don't have a VK3AMP, but I looked on their website and it appears they only sell parts, not entire amplifiers, and that none of the parts they sell use a serial interface. So if we are to help you then we need to understand exactly what you have there for an ...

Re: Pops on audio peaks with Thetis, G2 and external USB card
First thing is ASIO is what you want to use, not MME. Second, are you using VAC or cmASIO in Thetis? If you are using VAC, then match your VAC main buffer size to your ID4 buffer size. If you are using cmASIO you have to use buffer size 64. If things won't run well at 64 then you can't use cmASIO be...

Re: NR2 not working?
There is nothing wrong with those settings. However, the "trained" mode of NR2, new in this latest version, is far superior to the Gamma mode. Nevertheless, the Gamma mode should be easily noticeable when NR2 is enabled.
You do have NR2 enabled on the main UI, right?

Re: Anan G2 pure signal question.
Thanks for confirming this. I do have an external amp and realise I need to use a coupler to do this correctly but in the absence of that, I imagined I would see the feedback turning blue/greep at the bottom right of the watefall, however I don't see any change when txing? ATT on TX needs to be ena...

Re: Anan G2 pure signal question.
Hi Can the G2 make use of pure signal without an external sampler? Yes. Also, just for completeness, you can use it this way with an external amp but it will only linearize the internal amplifier in that case. That is, does it have an inbuilt sampler at the output stage? It does, as does the 7000 a...

Re: Will my PCs be Sufficient for the Task?
Short answer: the laptop is good to go, the NUC might be marginal. Longer answer: The Ryzen 7 should be more than sufficient. The i5 will probably run, but it's a pretty low-spec i5 at 1.3 GHz, so perhaps not as well as you might like. A high-spec i5 will be fine. Any DirectX compatible graphics ada...

Any advice for a particular model? Yes, but it's probably bad advice :D I say that because I'm only familiar with the higher end routers, where "higher end" means "way more complicated"! However, FWIW, I'm a big fan of Ubiquiti products, specifically their lesser known UISP line...

Re: Remote (virtualized) CW
I would suggest modifying what ever keyer you decide upon with an audio out jack. Then obtain an inexpensive two-input headphone mixer from Amazon (or wherever). Use the headphone output of the Realtek. Combine the two audio sources in the mixer. Cheap, simple, and no latency.
