Re: Replacing switch on bottom of 7000dle

It is moderately difficult to disassemble a 7000, depending on the case style you have. Here's a video that, while not specifically a disassembly video, should provide some guidance on how to go about it. After that it's just a small matter of de-soldering the old switch and soldering on a new one. ...

Re: 6 Meter ONLY Power output Problem

The Orion MKxxx schematics are posted in the schematics sub-forum. Unfortunately, Apache still considers the RF schematics proprietary enough that they don't want them posted in a public forum. They will, however, send them to you upon request. No doubt someone on the forum here has a copy and could...

Re: Thetis & CW Skimmer

Progress!

How does the spectral display (horizontal waterfall) look in Skimmer? Does it appear OK, clean, without any weird artifacts, spurs, etc?

Did you put the buffer settings on auto? Try increasing the VAC main buffer size?

Re: Thetis & CW Skimmer

You didn't post a screen shot of the Skimmer side setup. The VAC cables are setting themselves to 192KHz, not 48KHz, and the under and overflow counters are running wild. Check your sample rate in Skimmer and ensure it matches with Thetis. You might also leave all the buffer controls in Thetis set t...

Re: N1MM: Radio goes into TX mode when in S&P mode

Use the Thetis built-in keyer but keep the Winkeyer attached. See if it locks up with that. If it does then disconnect the Winkeyer and try the built-in keyer again. If it works ok then it seems like it might be RFI associated with the Winkeyer.

Re: N1MM: Radio goes into TX mode when in S&P mode

This is starting to sound like an RFI problem.

Is N1MM keying the radio via Thetis and a virtual serial cable? Or is it using hardware keying of some kind?

Re: G2 RX2 & numb ADC1

Checked so far: correct ADC, bad database, old versions. Here's a couple of other ideas: - Perhaps there is a fault with the bandpass filters for the RX2 input. You might try selecting the bypass state on those. - Remove the covers and check for any loose RF connections or cables. Did RX2 ever work ...

Re: Orion MKII board RF output level

The 200D has the original Orion board, not the Orion MKII. Schematics for the Orion can be found in the schematics section of this forum.

AFAIK, all boards from the Hermes to the Saturn output 500mW max. on 160-10M, and 350mW max. on 6M.

Re: Rack Mount for ANAN DLE-7000 MkII ?

AFAIK there is no off-the-shelf product available at this time. In a pinch, you can use a shelf, mount it up with a blank panel over the front of it, and cut an appropriately sized opening in the front panel. Or, even better, order something like this (there are a million choices) and, again, cut an...

Well I didn't know there was actually a law relating to my issue " Segals law" but its true enough. All I wanted to do was to set up my oscillator (out of a serious GPSDO) to an accurate 10 MHz to use on my 7000 mkII. It turns out that its not a simple task. Absolutely right. Welcome to t...

Re: GPSDO accuracy and what the satellites are doing

Tests that I've done imply that the 10MHz signals from the GPS satellites are changing frequency randomly by small amounts. I can assure you this is not the case. I have been deeply involved with the GPS and, in particular, GPS time and frequency standards, since before GPS reached it's Initial Ope...

I'm confused. First you write: Downloaded the file. 1019_Metis_Orion_MkII_Protocol_2_v2.0b.zip. Then you write: Metis_Orion_MkIII_Protocol_2_v2.1.26c.rbf...That is what I programmed. Which is it? Or did you try both? Four things to consider: 1. If Bootloader runs OK, then you did not brick the unit,...

Re: Monitor: 60Hz vs 144Hz

With the bottleneck being the FFT processing, it's unlikely you can get Thetis to run much faster than 60Hz at 384KHz or larger IF bandwidth. Thus a faster display is wasted on Thetis, but you may find it valuable for gaming.

Re: External feedback level calculations

PureSignal can use the entire range of the step attenuator, which is 0 to 31 dB in 1 dB steps.

However, remember not to exceed +13 dBm at the rear panel input to avoid the risk of damaging something.

Re: External feedback level calculations

Unfortunately I don't know what the coupling factor is for the internal coupler.

From a linearity and measurement accuracy perspective +/-1dB is pretty good for the hardware we've got.
