Re: Thetis_Updated_Version_WD5Y
Joe, thanks for the update, appreciated the collapsed view cleaned up, that's my preferred view. Everything else works just fine, mine, being a 10W radio, it won't take advantages of the full cross needle span, it will be nice to have, as per the physical meter, a selectable range. 73 and Season Gre...

Re: Random Wide TX on a 10E and Thetis
Mike, I am experiencing the same thing since the early days of Thetis, up to the point that once I thought to came back to Power SDR MRX PS, but given today's Thetis features, it is hard to make such a step back. I do confirm taking place only when PS is engaged, it randomly happens after several PT...

Re: Thetis 2_8_11 changes/ideas/wants/wishes
Scott, thanks for the prompt reply, SNB is also a good tool but does not seems to be effective on a wide band RF pulse noise (it just smooths the audio noise) , as per the power line one, this takes a large chunk of the high bands, with its peak on 15m, were it is about 20dB above the standard band ...

Re: Thetis 2_8_11 changes/ideas/wants/wishes
Inspired by the latest K4 Firmware implementation, on which additional bandwidth filters have been put in front of Noise Blanker, three settings, narrow (1kHz), wide (5kHz), OFF, (24kHz). NB on Thetis works very well, unfortunately, when a loud signal is nearby or just within the chosen IF2, it beco...

For the sake of clarification, is worth recall also Phil's (VK6PH) words on the subject, QUOTE The need to apply dither or not is one that is new to all of us as we transition from conventional, mixer based, analogue radios to Direct Digital Conversion techniques. With an analogue radio we understoo...

Hi Ernst,
it is refered to the bin bandwidth, which given the 26dB difference, should be set at 7.4Hz
10 log (2960/7.4) = 26

Hi Scott, thanks for the reply, no hurry, I was nor even sure to bring the subject up. Audio recovery
The recent tested K4D, highlighted its excellent audio recovery, I noticed a huge dynamic range from the base band noise and the incoming signals. While on a clear frequency, no hiss could be heard, once tuned on a even weak signal, this comes out very loud, apparently from no where, listening is ve...

The version I am using is called Smart S meter, meat for the Signature Series, as long as you create a pair of virtual com, it does work on all applications, as per Bob S meter. What is single cal?
Joe,
stand for single calibration, PS runs just once and do not update according to the incoming feedback (no adaptive PS)
From main console, click on Linearity to access the related selections, including single cal.

Re: Thetis 2.8.11 Released!
Same issue as N9VX on my ANAN10 (16bit) running Thetis 2.8.11 P1 using W10 x64. i7 desktop 6 gig ram, SS drive.
Did try deleting the file wdspWisdom00 and regenerating it with no joy.
It seems linked to PS as without it or single cal it works fine, it happens randomly 1 every 12-15 ptt

Same as Jesus, noticed that the FFT window won't make it all the way to the end and closes by it self, if I try to start Thetis, it stops at 'initialiazing portaudio' and then closes.

Hi Scott, yes it looked very nice, given my input drive of 10W, the automatic attenuator settled to 21dB. Based on your old notes, If I do recall correctly, the optimum level should be around 7db prior to over load, this latter happens at -11dBm on my unit (Att = 0), at least what I figure it out wi...

NB effectiveness on static rain
Being on a hill top does have its pros but the high antenna can also be prone to the so called static rain, which is not really caused by the rain drops discharging on the antenna’s elements, I must say my experiences are exactly as per Tom’s one (https://www.w8ji.com/pecipitation_static.htm). When ...
