Re: RX1 acting up whereas RX2 is not
Mark, I know what you are saying, but regardless of the scaling (it is a tad different, I noticed), the noise floor sinks very low, AND, the floor goes up and down so even with slightly different scaling (I will make them the same), it is obvious that something isn't right. Thanks! Juha UPDATE: Matc...

Re: RX1 acting up whereas RX2 is not
Mark, RX1 had an End-Fed-Half-Wave connected and RX2 is using an inverted V dipole at 33'. I will do the "swap" and post tomorrow. When it comes to signal strength, depending on where the station is, there can be a difference of 2-3 S units when I bounce between the 2 antennas. 73, Juha UP...

Re: RX1 acting up whereas RX2 is not
Gary,
No, the box is not checked.
Thetis version you can see at bottom of my post.
Again, I wish I could have attached a brief video clip but can't. The noise-floor ebbs and flows ion RX1 whereas it stays "steady" on RX2.
Scott asked me the same question many weeks ago.

RX1 acting up whereas RX2 is not
"Last gasp" effort to understand why this is happening. To me, it would seem that there is something wrong with RX1. As I had reported quite extensively many weeks ago, RX1 exhibits a strange anomaly - noise floor dropping and then bouncing back several times in a row (regardless of band o...

Re: Why am I seeing this?
Well, it is just a hobby, nothing earth-shattering and I guess I am better off going back to being an appliance operator and sell the ANAN. It was fun while it lasted

Decided to start from scracth (backups made)
I backed up the OpenHPSDR Program Folder and the OpenHPSDR Roaming Folder before deleting those 2 folders (Thetis still showed up in Apps, so I also uninstalled Thetis there), wanting to see if starting from scratch would make a difference. I won't go into the issues I had been observing, including ...

Re: Going back to Ethernet switch from direct to PC
Scott, Router is plugged into the switch. Again, the hardware set-up is exactly the same as it was a few weeks ago. When I used the Bootloader I assigned ("WRITE IP") the IP address that I saw on the "H/W Select" form where it says "ANAN Address." From what you are writ...

Going back to Ethernet switch from direct to PC
Decided to go back to using the radio via an Ethernet switch rather than having radio talk directly with the PC (I used Bootloader to assign static IP addresses to radio and NIC in the PC). 1. Imported the Database that I had been using successfully (radio talking to PC via the Ethernet switch). 2. ...

Re: Why am I seeing this?
Not sure, but when using the Bootloader (to assign static IP to the radio, as I have done successfully previously), the utility finds the board in the ANAN and also displays the MAC address, but after I restart Thetis, nothing works and no MAC address is to be seen. See below.

Re: Why am I seeing this?
I wait long enough for the hardware in the ANAN to be up and running before I click on the Thetis icon on my desktop.
ANAN is connected directly to the PC (static IP), no dedicated NIC.
Again, this has started happening only recently.

Why am I seeing this?
Lately, I have been seeing a pop-up (after clicking on the Thetis icon on my desk-top) to the effect that the radio isn't (hardware) connected or powered on, but it is. This is something rather new and I can get it all working after I restart my PC (powering down/power cycling the radio won't help)....

Re: Thetis v2.9.0.8 - meters and then some more
How do you make sure that a meter floats (perhaps that isn't the correct term as I want the meter to stick to the GUI) on top of the main GUI? When I switch from GUI to surf the net, the meter shows up but not the GUI. How do I avoid the meter showing up (with no Thetis GUI visible) when I am in &qu...

Re: Switched to AM on receive with NO AUDIO at all
Sigi, Scott, OK. When I want to de-select parameters shown on the various forms that I do NOT want to be saved with TX profiles, I assume that I just click on the yellow highlighted parameters, correct"? Trying that on the main GUI, I see the yellow color to change into GREEN or RED, telling me...

I didn't know of this feature, but I ascribe that to reading manuals or operating instructions too fast.
Thanks!

Re: Switched to AM on receive with NO AUDIO at all
Hello Sigi, I was curious about your Ring Buffer and Audio Port settings. So, are you not seeing many under/overflows at all? Also, people tell me that numbers in the IN and OUT boxes should be the same although I am not sure if that is a requirement. There was a video about these settings, not sure...

Re: Switched to AM on receive with NO AUDIO at all
Hello Sigi, I do use VAC but I switch from LSB to AM/SAM, the VAC1 box gets unchecked. This has never happened before., only on the latest Thetis version does it happen. After I checked the VAC1 box, I do get audio on AM. I find it odd that the "MIC" and "COMP" functions get swit...

Switched to AM on receive with NO AUDIO at all
Was monitoring 40 m just now and noticed a commercial AM station, booming. Switched from LSB to AM, and SAM, for kicks also, To my surprise, there is NO audio whatsoever and I also noticed that "MIC" and "COMP" buttons changed to green. I have never seen this before on earlier Th...

Re: Using USB to Ethernet Adapter with RF2K-S amp
Scott,
That's what I thought of too, but I believe that the amp needs to be configured to use either USB or Ethernet, not both at the same time as that would cause a "conflict." I have posted this query on the amp community page too.

Using USB to Ethernet Adapter with RF2K-S amp
As part of experimentation, I have migrated from using Ethernet (and TCI) between my radio and an RF2K-S amp to USB for CAT control. Now, I would like to continue having my RF2K-S amp communicating with the radio in a way that I could still use VNC (the amp has a VNC server) as I did before. Does an...

Re: USB to Ethernet adapter
Happy to report success using that Ethernet USB adapter. Not an ideal solution but it works, especially once the Interface Metric was changed to a value of 1. Setting up VACs and other things are proving very difficult. Some of these may be gremlins between Win10 and Win11 versions, since most of t...
