Waterfall color palettes...where are they?

Anyone know where the waterfall color palettes are? Haven't been able to find where they are...I want to create my own palette.

Who has the DLL that fixes VAC microphone audio routing?

Hey all; I've heard tell there is a DLL out there that "normalizes" the VAC routing for use with a microphone. It is supposed to allow VAC to work with all the controls and functions the hardware has, e.g. you can actually control RX1 and RX2 properly as well as the monitor levels. If anyo...

Have you tried the v1 Programmer? Maybe it has p1 installed? Mine shipped in June with p1 on it.

Re: Questions about the 7000DLE MKII

I'm curious if anyone is using a Heil PR781 microphone with their ANAN and if so how has it worked out? Or is there a popular microphone ANAN users can recommend? Also do microphones in this output range (-55db) require a microphone pre-amplifier for the ANAN? KF4HR The processing power in Thetis c...

Re: How to use MNF

Click on MNF to enable the filters. Click on MNF+ to create a filter. Now you have to zoom way in to find it. They are created overlapping the dial zero indicator, move the mouse around until you see the pop up text and while on center of the filter, left-click and drag the filter to the carrier you...

Re: Audio Input Proposal

Just plug that mic into a Focusrite, select the ASIO option in the VAC1 menu, pick the mic for input and you can either send to the focusrite and use the outputs on it or you can plug into the headphone jack and use that as the audio out. Any subtlety between the mic pres on the Focusrite, Behringer...

Re: Audio Input Proposal

I have a bunch of audio gear and have been playing with it since I got licensed really. With the Anan I’ve wired analog inputs and also done the VAC route with a USB pre-amp. They both work, but I prefer the sound the VAC/USB pre route.

Re: Noise cancelling / Phasing using diversity

I don’t have two identical antennas to phase, but I do use Diversity to cancel noise sources from my own house. It only works on one source so if you have multiple it’s not going to affect them all. I use a really crappy fan dipole I made for broadcast FM, 2m and 440 that just hangs in my shack as m...

Re: PC Upgrade Feedback

I’d be tempted to try what you have now but you will need a gigabit wired NIC for sure. I run wi-if for the internet and the NIC is just networked for SDRs. Works fine. I would recommend a clean OS install but your existing hardware may be able to run things well enough if funds are tight. My PC die...

Re: fldigi WWV calibration - unstable

I had this instability problem poke its head up again and I think I finally have it nailed. I toggled the buffer latency to manual and dialed them in and I also toggled both Force options in VAC1 Monitor section, checking the Force box. It's dead stable. I think due to vagaries of other apps running...

Re: FT8 and ANAN 7000dle Mark II, black edition

To work digital modes you need two cables. One is the CAT control and Omnirig provides the serial cable to tie the digi mode software to the radio. You enable CAT on the Anan for one of the ends of the cable and you point the digi mode software to the port for the other end of the cable. Now the two...

Re: fldigi WWV calibration - unstable

This was all due to Malware Bytes being installed, I had Thetis whitelisted too but it did something to manipulate the packet flow. This software caused a bunch of other issues as well, losing control of the hardware as an example. I removed it and now everything is running very very well again. Eve...

Re: New 7000/8000 Orion MKII Protocol 2 Firmware Topic

Yeah I had the Thetis versions all whitelisted to be ignored as well but that didn’t stop the issues. I think they were just handling all packets.

A few days in now, everything is running better than it ever had now that Malware Bytes is uninstalled.

Re: New 7000/8000 Orion MKII Protocol 2 Firmware Topic

I've confirmed the issues I was having were all a result of having Malware Bytes installed. The major version update Malware Bytes pushed right about the time the 2.8.x release happened kicked off all sorts of issues on my Windows 10 system. Now that I've completely removed Malware Bytes, all_of_my_...

Re: New 7000/8000 Orion MKII Protocol 2 Firmware Topic

There is a chance I've found the issue... only a handful of hours into it so far. I stripped Malware Bytes out of my system, it had a major version update about when 2.8.x dropped. They added "features" to it, even though I disabled them as an override. After removing it and rebooting to e...

Re: New 7000/8000 Orion MKII Protocol 2 Firmware Topic

This _still_continues_ and it was unfortunately not RF. I'm losing control of the radio without any sign of it happening until I go to PTT or tune etc. I've narrowed this down to either Thetis or the firmware. The audio continues to come through so it isn't the OS network link or that wouldn't work....

I'd recommend you try a different version of the P2 firmware. Go back to the first post in this topic and pick a few to download and try. You may even need to go back to 1.9 or possibly 1.8 series revisions. OK thanks, will see if it continues as stable with the 2.8.9 now. it was reasonably stable ...

Re: New 7000/8000 Orion MKII Protocol 2 Firmware Topic

Have any of you found you need to reload firmware for glitching, similar to the database reset? I'm running 2.0.0b on a 7000 DLE mkII and started having a lot of odd glitches with the latest 2.8.7 and now 2.8.9 Thetis. I've done database resets and re-imports. The issue seems to be a firmware issue ...

Re: Windows10 2004 Update busted my radio

Just anecdotal, but I’ve had to increase buffer sizes since that update and have the issue with sdrconsole both with the Anan and also with an SDRPlay. No definitive cause as Windows is a black box to me.

I have it working but at increased latency.

Please post a screen shot of your Thetis VAC setup window. It may be that the resampler is running in an unstable fashion for you. fldigi WWV calibration - unstable

I've been stumped for several days on this one. Running fldigi, using VAC for the audio, all was perfect, WWV calibration was dead straight. Same firmware, same software, ran for a few weeks, consistent and solid. I fired up the other day and saw the signals on the waterfall wobbling all over, so I ...

Re: Packet Radio ?

ARDOP and VARA are the new sound card modes for Winlink and of course there is packet as well. With packet you may need to tweak some things to get the RX and TX timing to be fast enough. I’ve not tried it with the Anan. They will all set up with VAC as with any other sound card mode. I like the UZ7...

Re: OH NO--- Ruined!

Have you tried audo via VAC or a PC microphone? Do you have another mic/connector you can try?

If you run the tone test or hit TUN, does it still produce output?

Throw a VOM on the mic cable assembly and just check that you have continuity where you expect it.

Anyone ever run Pure Signal with a non-linear amplifier? Say a class C?

Just curious if anyone has ever tried what the results would be with SSB through a crude non-linear amp like a class C while using Pure Signal? Does it correct enough to allow for use of a crudely designed amplifier with maybe a very minimal low-pass filter. Just daydreaming about cheap and easy amp...
