Lost Microphone input in Thetis
I apologize if this is posted in the wrong forum. Recently, for no apparent reason, I no longer have microphone audio from my USB microphone in Thetis. One day it's working fine the next day it's not. I checked all my settings in the Audio tab, and nothing has changed. I have photographed all the di...

Re: Understanding DSP NR
I followed the instructions on a couple of videos on setting up Voicemeeter Banana and the Goyo plug-in. I had to also install a host program for the plug-in. I tried every setting I could and still could not get it to pass the audio ( DAX audio in SmartSDR for the Flex radios) from my radio to VMB....

Re: Understanding DSP NR
Goyo is a VST plug-in. That is a digital audio industry standard. VST plug-ins have to be hosted by some sort of digital audio workstation software. Reaper , for example. There is a relatively lightweight way of doing this with Voicemeeter. If you Google "voicemeeter potato vst plugins" y...

Re: Understanding DSP NR
Another problem with RM Noise is that it requires an active internet connection because the AI analysis and training appears to be done on a remote server. That's a non-starter for me. Coincidentally, I just tried an interesting VST plugin for my DAW, which can be found here: https://goyo.app/ With...

Re: G2 Saturn with Andromeda front panel
Steve Wilson posted about his cooling problem and how he solved it on the Apache Labs Facebook page. He said he added a 120mm fan to the bottom cover, similar to the 8000DLE cooling fan. He stated that his radio is running 15 degrees cooler.

Re: G2 Saturn with Andromeda front panel
Oh, I forgot to mention, I have a V1 controller that came with my 8000DLE. It's nice, but, you are correct, the PiHPSDR interface isn't as nice as Thetis. I tested it with my 8000DLE and it worked. But, I didn't find it as easy to use as Thetis or the Maestro I had with the Flex 6500 I had. ( traded i...

Re: G2 Saturn with Andromeda front panel
Scott, I have been trying to find a post I thought I remembered reading from Laurance saying that this particular version of the G2, that it would have the Andromeda GUI instead of the current PiHPSDR interface. Maybe, it's just my imagination ( that does happen sometimes) . I did look at the image ...

G2 Saturn with Andromeda front panel
In the G2 Saturn manual there are three photos of three different G2 radios. One with the front panel running PiHPSDR. Another without the front panel and finally, one with the Andromeda front panel. The information for the one with the Andromeda front panel mentioned that it was a future product. B...

Re: Rumbling audio,,,,again
So far, after running all day today, not a single rumble. I can set the AGC as high as it will go. And no rumbling in the audio at all. I didn't have the problem until recently. I suspected many things. But, Scott's line of questions pointed me in the right direction. In my case, using VAC for audio...

Re: Rumbling audio,,,,again
Trucker, The rumbling originates somewhere in software, it isn't caused by the speakers or jacks. The rumble is only present when first pulling up a Thetis session. As soon as I click on any active QSO the rumble disappears and never returns. Mark Ok, this is probably above my pay grade. Hopefully,...

Re: Rumbling audio,,,,again
Mark, if I understand correctly, the rumbling you hear has always been present, correct? One of the things that Scott suggested to me was to listen to my audio connected to the headphones connection on my radio. I used the front panel connection. I could not hear any rumbling at any AGC setting. You...

Re: Rumbling audio,,,,again
Scott, it's been purring like a kitten all evening. I can run the AGC all the way up and still no rumbling. It's amazing how a couple of settings like that can cause so much havoc.
Thanks again for your help.

Re: Rumbling audio,,,,again
I think you hit the nail on the head. I am using Windows 11 PRO. It took a while, but I had to look under Settings/System/Sound. Then in the Advanced section, All Sound Devices/Properties, there is a section for Audio Enhancements and Spatial Sound. I turned both of those off and, so far, no rumblin...

Re: Rumbling audio,,,,again
Scott, I tried headphones as you asked. With the same settings as you originally asked me to try. The rumbling isn't present until I click on NR2. It's either not present with standard NR, or because of my hearing, I cannot hear it at all. I have not attempted to change any of the default NR2 settin...

Re: Rumbling audio,,,,again
Trucker, That rumbling is normal, I hear it on my setup all the time. If you click on any active QSO in your panadapter the rumbling will disappear and will stay gone after that. Re: Rumbling audio,,,,again
I have changed computers, network cables, coax and even a different power supply in an attempt to isolate the source of the rumbling I hear with my 8000DLE. If I increase the AGC very much past 45 it becomes apparent. And the only way to suppress it, is to engage the SNB. That works very well. But, ...

Re: What is the probability of market availability with regards to two items announced by Apache Labs?
Laurance, thanks for the information on remote operation. I would offer to help but, currently I don't own a G2. And what little coding skills I have are using C# for Windows applications. ( mostly for my Flex 6600M ) I am a want to be programmer. Mostly to keep my 72 year old brain cells going! Tha...

Re: What is the probability of market availability with regards to two items announced by Apache Labs?
John, to your second question, it depends on developers ( volunteers not paid) taking an interest in creating a thin client application to make remote operation possible. It depends on the firmware in the radio and probably an application running on the Pi CM4 module to process data similar to what ...

Re: G2 - No Receive
Do you have another BNC to 239 adapter that you can try? Maybe, just moving the existing cable a bit would let you know if it is intermittent.
Just a thought that occurred to me.

Here's what the & symbol does.
If a command is terminated by the control operator &, the shell executes the command in the background in a subshell. The shell does not wait for the command to finish, and the return status is 0.

Re: Selecting Balanced XLR input
Then I added to the end of the app’s path “-m xlr &” and clicked save
Is " -m xlr &" a typo?
The command in the manual doesn't include "&" in the line you would use to add the balanced input to p2app so that Thetis will use the balanced input.

Re: New G2 Points of Interest etc
The connection on the rear is a 1/4 TRS balanced connection. It uses a 1/4 male TRS plug or Stereo connector. Flex Radio uses the same thing on their 6600/M radios. It's easy to build or buy.
