I can't say if this will help others but it certainly helped me.... i got rid of all Cat5e cables in the house and replaced them with MUCH BETTER shielded CAT7 cables. No more hickup's in SDR datastreams (i.e. my 7000) and the rigs are better protected against RF while TX'ing.

Hi John, do you have updated the 8k with Protocol 2? SDRC doesn't work with Prot.1.
If you have P2 than it's proberbly a bad network connection or your router is to slow. P2 needs a 1Gb connection.

Where's the test signal coming from, another TX nearby or a LOW power hf generator?
Do you see the attenuation also without that test signal ...10-20db noise drop?
