Pop in audio after key up
Pop in audio after key up
I have been using VAC1 for mic connection,(using a XLR to USB interface on my computer) works perfectly, just thought I would try and plug a mic into the front of the radio, I use the rear RCA key port to key the radio with a Heil trigger. When I key the radio there is a slight delay then a pop in the transmitted audio. any ideas?
Re: Pop in audio after key up
What sort of mic, how is the mic connector wired, and what are your settings in Thetis for mic, bias and PTT?
Re: Pop in audio after key up
The Mic is a EV RE-27 dynamic mic, PTT into the rear RCA jack, it works fine if I push the MOX button

Re: Pop in audio after key up
1) In the H/W Select tab the Hardware Bias Option should be Off for a dynamic mic.
2) In the Options-1 tab the All Mode Mic PTT is Enabled in my setup (not sure whether that matters).

Unfortunately you did not fully answer my questions.
How is the mic wired to the mic TRS connector? It is almost certainly wired wrong and is being shorted out when you use the hardware PTT switch. The PTT connection on the rear panel is electrically connected to the mic connector. With the settings you have the PTT signal is present on the ring terminal of the mic TRS connector. When you activate PTT the ring terminal will be shorted to ground.
