It is assumed you are asking about band following via CAT. I don't have an ACOM 2000A, but just reading the manual for it shows what to do.

You need to provision an RS-232 serial port on the PC you run Thetis on. This can be a card or a USB to serial adapter.

You will need to determine what COM port that is.

In Thetis, go to Setup > Serial/Network/MIDI/CAT > Serial and assign one of the four instances to that COM port. Set baud rate to 57600, parity none, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit. Enable the port.

On the amp, follow the instructions in section 5.4 of the ACOM manual. Set the CAT radio type to Flex PowerSDR (57600).

To make the cable between the PC serial port and the amp, follow the schematic shown in Figure 7-4 of the ACOM manual. You do not have to bridge pins 6 and 7 on the PC side. I don't trust this schematic entirely, so be prepared to swap the connections to pins 2 and 3 on the PC connector if things don't immediately work.

CAT control comes from the PC, because the Thetis software is effectively 75% of your radio and that's where all the smarts are.

The PTT signal comes from the PTT OUT connector on the back of the 7000.

RF obviously is connected between the 7000 and the amp.

I've already answered that question in some detail in my first response.

Give that post to your "cable guy", and give him a copy of the ACOM 2000A manual.

Assuming you get back a cable that is correct, you will have to configure both Thetis and the amp as described in that post.

CAT is delivered by Thetis (PC). The Anan-hardware has nothing to do with it (only if you are playing with the OC connector - but not for CAT).
Imagine the PC as your "radio". So you need a serial-connection between the Acom 2000 and the PC.

Scott's description abobe leaves no questions unanswered.

I have been using the 2000A together with my 7000DLE for quite a while. CAT is working without any problems. But if you have it working and if you're not afraid of your PC, I recommend to use the DDUTIL software. You will find some information on this in this forum.
