Hello,

I am interested in SO2R using 2 ANAN transceivers.
What sort of hardware do I need?
I find the topic a little confusing hence I need guidance from friends here.

Also, what are the alternatives to receiver guard sold by DX Engineering DXE-RG5000HD?

You will probably want three separate computers, but it could be done in one.

There are a lot of other options, that article is just one example.

I have a SO2R station but have one Anan 7000 and one Kenwood TS-890.

I use 3 computers, one for running Thetis, one for N1MM and the SO2R controller, antenna switch server, etc and one for Node Red.

The Bandpass filters are very important…. See va6am.com I haven’t tried any others but will vouch for his High Power bandpass and triplexers.

I run High Power and have had no problems.

I would also highly recommend some kind of automated antenna switching, Green Heron, Antenna Genius, Hamation, etc. I use the YCCC MOAS II but you will need to invest programming time as the server is very flexible, but very custom and your station will need to be defined in a JSON configuration file.

As my station is laid out now I could swap the TS-890 for another 7000 or vice-versa.
