TCI and JTDX

Postby Tony EI7BMB » Wed Mar 09, 2022 4:42 pm

Is anyone seeing any issues using TCI with JTDX software? JTDX crashes on frequency or band change occasionally. I have tried changing TCI server to 40001 without success. Reverting back so standard CAT seems to cure the problem. I'd welcome any thoughts on this.

What version of JTDX and what version of Thetis?
Some TCI timing was fixed in JTDX 2.1.159

HI Tony

runing two instances of JTDX here on RX1 & 2 using TCI
It appears to be behaving itself. Only issue I have noted is that occasionally/randomly PWR output slider in JTDX resets to 0.

Otherwise all good so far.

Edit: Took a lot longer this time but JTDX has crashed again. I'll keep investigating to see if I can narrow down the issue.

RC5b works well. Nothing noted untoward. Appears stable/

The random return of the power slider to 0 is not a TCI issue - noted it happening on another instance - Icom 9700.

One unexpected "feature" I have noted with TCI, if RX2 is off and I start the 2nd instance of JTDX which references RX2 it turns RX2 on. Even tho the power on/off option isn't selected on the Radio Tab.

AS yet TCI on Anan/Thetis doesn't appear to support display of signal strength/power out via JTDX.

yes, if external program sends message rx_enable:1:true; (the 1 signifies rx2) then RX2 will be shown in thetis, irrespective of power state. RX1 is there, why cant RX2 be there as well?

yes, signal str/power out etc (sensors) are not implemented
