JTDX jumps 500hz on TX
Hi guys , I am using TCI rig control from JTDX to Thetis and I've recently noticed the TX VFO jumping upwards by 500hz at random intervals. Has anyone else noticed this ?
Re: JTDX jumps 500hz on TX
Hi Tony, just saw your post. I have previously had this problem as well when I moved to TCI. Like you, I saw a 0.5kHz step in TX frequency when using JTDX. It seems that some versions of JTDX do not play nicely with TCI. This could be resolved by changing the radio settings in JTDX for split operation - try either 'Rig' or 'Fake it'. I'm using JTDX v2.2.160-rc1 now which works with my 200D and Thetis 2.10.2.2 with Fake It split. Unfortunately, I can't now remember which JTDX versions were a problem. JTDX development seems to have stopped. I tried the JTDX-improved version which is has a better interface but this also has the TX problem with TCI.
Hope you manage to get it resolved.

Not sure if this is what you are referring to but I suspect it is. If JT (or WS for that matter) is set up for split operation then when you transmit it will adjust the frequency of the radio to ensure your transmit tone/signal is between, if I recall correctly, 1000 and 1500 Hz. So depending on where you are in the passband (the red transmit window) - you might or might not see a shift. If this is indeed what you are referring to its perfectly normal. Also note it doesn't impact where you are 'seen' at the RX end - you will be wherever you have it on the dial so if you have your transmit at say 2500 hz you will be 'seen' at 2500 Hz (even though it might use a tone of 1500 Hz and shift the radio up 1000 Hz).

Re: JTDX jumps 500hz on TX
Thanks guys, it does seem to be TCI related as I've switched back to CAT and not seeing the issue. Gary I understand the Tx does change but the problem is the rig was not reverting back to original RX QRG, so after a while 50.313 could become 50.414.5 . I'll try TCI with just fake it to see what happens. I am using JTDX 2.2.160 rc4 at the moment.

Tried using "fake it" with TCI but problem still occurs. Back to CAT for now
Re: JTDX jumps 500hz on TX
Hi,
I cannot replicate the issue. Running JTDX 2.2.160-32A-rc3. Control is set to TCI Receiver 1. Split operation in JTDX is set to "Rig".
If I select 14,074 and TX at 200Hz, VFO-B shows up (correct) 14,0725. If I move TX-freq up to 2900 Hz, VFO-B shows 14,075, which is also correct.
If I move down the TX-freq to 200Hz, VFO-B changes to 14,0725.
Seems all correct.

Re: JTDX jumps 500hz on TX
I have a faint recollection of my rig behaving the same way and remember I changed under "Radio" from Rig to Fake It which solved the problem.
Might be worth a try.
Good luck anyways.

I don’t suffer from insanity, I enjoy every second of it!

If TCI does not work for you, you can use TCPIP-Cat (only in JTDX afaik)

Thanks Ernst, I'll try TCP/IP-Cat and see how that goes
Re: JTDX jumps 500hz on TX
It works in a lot of app's. It will work in anything that uses HamLib, such as Fldigi and WSJT-X. It also works in DX Labs, N1MM and other software.oe3ide wrote:If TCI does not work for you, you can use TCPIP-Cat (only in JTDX afaik)

Thanks Scott FYI JTDX has a rig listing for FlexRadio/Anan PowerSDR/Thetis . I will test with that rig listing

so far so good using TCP/IP-Cat
