Not able to program 8000DLE with new Firmware

Postby G0MGM » Thu Jul 13, 2017 7:52 pm

I thought I would try the new Protocol 2 F/W and Thetis, but seem t have bricked the Anan.

First I tried the HPSDR Programmer by upgrading to Protocol 1 ver 1.6. That worked fine.

I then tired to use it to Upgrade to Protocol 2 ver 1.2rdf but the Programmer could not find the radio after doing the erasing stage.

I then upgraded to the latest version of Bootloader ver 2.0.4.4, turned the radio off, flicked the switch on the back, and ran bootloader, Win_pCap was already installed. It can find the radio but when I try to program it by clicking Browse in the Board Programmer section I get the error message attached...

Any ideas?

See this thread.

Most likely you need to rename your rbf file "metis.rbf".

Thanks Scott. That worked. Now back on Protocol 1 but will try 2 later. I not seem to remember reading something a long time ago about having to rename these files for the Orion boards. Never had to do that for the Angelia.

Don't know why the author hasn't fixed that problem in the software. It seems an easy fix. Same for the too short time out for rediscovery in HPSDR programmer.
