VAC Over Run Issue - While PS in use with "Display PS-RX and PS-TX spectra"

Postby Joe » Mon Sep 12, 2022 1:28 am

Not sure if this will help anyone but I wanted to post. I started getting extreme VAC buffer over-runs and started backing into things I had changed and found this issue in my case: I had the main sampling rate at 192khz with PS Enabled (VAC @ Manual) and chose the checkbox option "Display PS-RX and PS-TX spectra". With this checkbox enabled along with Pure Signal of course the VAC sampling gets extremely un-stable. If you uncheck this option, all will stabilize fine. I apologize if this has already been posted.

That feature was never meant for routine use, only for debugging PS problems. And even for that purpose it has historically almost never been used.

Now that you've brought this up:
I've always wondered, where exactly is the PS-RX/TX spectra displayed if one were to enable the checkbox?
I don't get it :-(

I honestly have no idea how it works. It's something Warren cooked up for himself, and I'm afraid you'll have to ask him.

I forgot to mention that the vac run-away rate only appeared after releasing the PTT. I saw some other posts that claimed this issue and did not want this to be the cause of the problem.

Thanks
