Remote control of gain and phase settings in diversity

How can I best control the gain and phase settings from another application in Windows?
In Thetis 2.8.11 those controls are available via CAT. So you'd need to create a serial port connection (probably virtual).
Look at the CATStructs.xml file located in the application folder. Search it for the word "diversity". You will find a number of CAT commands. I tried them using the "Test CAT Commands" button in Setup > CAT Control > CAT and they do work.
Are you familiar with how to format and use CAT commands?
