Re: ANAN-6000DLE
Abhi,
So this looks to use the Orion MKII as is, not a new board, correct?
Also, it would appear that while the Orion MKII SMA connectors are now directly accessible, you must also be using the parallel micro-coax connectors internally to connect to the RF board, is that correct?
Are there any receive preselectors on the RF board?
Does the RF board have the usual 10 and 20dB receive attenuators on it?
Will the top of the case have any drilled and tapped holes for an additional external heatsink for those who wish to use "additional cooling"?
Is power supply sequencing important? How much current does the 48VDC amplifier input require?
Will there be new versions of PowerSDR and Thetis, or will people just select the ANAN-8000 and ignore the things the 6000 doesn't do like three antenna inputs, etc?
73,
Scott

Re: ANAN-6000DLE
I also see the 7000DLE MKII with the embedded i7 CPU is back in the product line.
Edit: Well, maybe not...I'm confused. The 7K with the embedded CPU is shown in the "Related Product(s)" list beneath the new 6000DLE listing but it doesn't appear in the Apache Labs homepage under "Current Promotions".

Re: ANAN-6000DLE
Hi Scott,
Good to hear from you, please see inline below:
So this looks to use the Orion MKII as is, not a new board, correct?
Correct, we aim to keep all current/new rigs on the Orion MKII platform, the board performance has been maxed out using the current chips available and does not make sense to redo it especially with the progress made with the firmware on this platform.
Also, it would appear that while the Orion MKII SMA connectors are now directly accessible, you must also be using the parallel micro-coax connectors internally to connect to the RF board, is that correct?
Yes.
Are there any receive preselectors on the RF board?
We plan to have a separate preselector board available down the line, it will install inside the case, so in effect this will have exactly the same performance as the 8000DLE albeit at lower power output
Does the RF board have the usual 10 and 20dB receive attenuators on it?
No need for these, none of the current radios have this.
Will the top of the case have any drilled and tapped holes for an additional external heatsink for those who wish to use "additional cooling"?
NO the Fan will have rubber pads to just sit on top of the case if required
Is power supply sequencing important? How much current does the 48VDC amplifier input require?
No, the 48v rail will use a maximum of 2A
Will there be new versions of PowerSDR and Thetis, or will people just select the ANAN-8000 and ignore the things the 6000 doesn't do like three antenna inputs, etc?
Yes, the new model will be supported, I need to request Doug to add the 6000DLE

Abhi

Re: ANAN-6000DLE
DAC out?
Interesting.
Interesting.
Re: ANAN-6000DLE
Thanks for the clarifications Abhi.
Re: ANAN-6000DLE
I understand from you that the initial production will not inc an Lna for 6m. I think this is a mistake and will hinder some initial sales until this is available. Have a think about whether or not you can include it from the start and likely you will have more preorders - imho. Given the size it would cert clear a lot of desk space over my 8000!
Re: ANAN-6000DLE
Curious as to how the 6000 is progressing, I like the option of a lower power version that can drive an amp.
Not sure I would implement HV finals. I understand the better IMD performance, not sure it is worth the added cost and complexity of an additional HV supply, particularly at these power levels.

Any more news or gone the way of the 8000mk2?

Re: ANAN-6000DLE
This Model was designed on community feedback and a subsequent group poll, we are currently taking expressions of interest in this model, however, so far we have not received the requisite numbers required to proceed into production
Re: ANAN-6000DLE
Thanks for the reply. I have not preordered one as I think the preselector board and 6m LNAs need to be in it from the off. So was waiting until all can be had in one go. Those issues aside, I think it is a great idea - the size is so useful.
Re: ANAN-6000DLE
I did a preorder for this radio. Is there an realistic chance that you will eventually build it?

Re: ANAN-6000DLE
Does anyone at Apache Labs actually read this stuff! I would love to be able to buy this radio but apparently they don't want to sell it.

Why does Apache Labs "offer" a new product and then fail to follow up. Please refund my $10 if you have intention of offering this product.

Re: ANAN-6000DLE
Because the expression of interest on the homepage is still being asked for, I assume that the 6000 will still be build. That is why I made an expression of interest last week. However, if it is already clear thats it will not be produced, please let me know quickly, because I will then have to look for possible alternatives. It would be a great pity!

Re: ANAN-6000DLE
Hello,
The electronics manufacturing industry is facing acute shortages, components which had a lead time of a few weeks are now stretching out into years, currently our production is focused on the Andromeda, ANAN-7000DLE MKII and the PC integrated version.
The 6000DLE is in active development with no estimated ship date as yet, if you need something within a short time span, the 6000DLE may not be the right choice.
If you wish for your $10 to be refunded we will happily do so, just drop us an email at support@apache-labs.com with your order details and a refund request.

Re: ANAN-6000DLE
Does this also meen that the ANAN-7000DLE MKII delivery lead time is more then 6 to 8 weaks?

Lead time indicated on the website for the 7000DLE MKII is accurate, comments are indicative only for the 6000DLE

Re: ANAN-6000DLE
I love the concept of the 6000, and recently placed a deposit-of-interest. This would be a backup to my primary 7000DLE MkII. I'm fine waiting however long it takes! Meanwhile I have my 7000DLE MkII which I love, to keep me happy.
Re: ANAN-6000DLE
How we looking on this deal? Anyone heard anything?

A year ago today, I made my inquiry about the 6000DLE. Now I would like to ask again how far the development has progressed and whether there is now more information on a planned delivery date. Thank you very much.

Re: ANAN-6000DLE
I just submitted an inquiry on the 6000 series today, I'll post when I hear back. I wanted that rig!
