ANAN G2 1K5 Shipping Update

I am posting this on the forum and not via email since we have been having some issues with the email which our web team is working on fixing at the moment.

Thank you for your patience with the 1K5. My apologies for posting this update a little late, I have been a little unwell with the Flu but on the mend now!

As mentioned in my last update we are in the final production stages of the 1K5 and since this is our first high power model we are also learning on the go, what we don't want to do is leave any weak link in the chain before we ship your units out.

We were using a 53v 50A PSU for the radio which was maxing out on some of the higher bands, since the current capacity is even lower at 110v this was also not adequate for 800W output as specified at 110v operation, our supplier has been kind enough to replace these with 53v 75A units which work as required for full 1500W output (220v) and 800W (110v). Since the footprint is exactly the same no changes were needed to the chassis and we are now awaiting delivery of the 75A PSUs. We expect delivery of the upgraded PSUs in 2-3 weeks, we expect to take about a week to fit and finalize assembly of the radios once the PSUs have been received.

There will not be any additional charge for the PSU upgrade and Apache Labs will absorb the price difference.

Well there’s a light in the tunnel. Don’t know if we’re getting close to the end of the tunnel or if it’s a train.
I would think they would turn loose of a few radios at the end of next month. See if those radios holdup to the abuse I’m sure some hams are going to give it. If no Problems !! Which I would be amazed since this is the first 1500 W radio made for ham radio use . I would think most of us would see the radio toward the end of summer . They might be some slight design changes, but I imagine everything‘s pretty well good to go.
So don’t expect your radio in 30 days It easily could be 90 days out for most of us. Who knows maybe I’ll get surprised, but I doubt it the way the electronic parts supply chain is now if one small hiccup , we need a different part. It could be a major delay I know. Sourcing Parts right now is unreal even power supply capacitors from major manufactures are still somewhere to 48 weeks out!
Being this is almost 2 years I’d say this is pretty reasonable for a new product , specially from a small company. I don’t think you’re gonna see anybody else tackle a radio like this , specially at this price!
So complain all you want to . I’m just happy to see a little progress made every few months I know eventually with a little progress every few months we will get a radio. I would’ve been more than happy with a 500 W radio 1500 W radio wait a year and a half I’d say a pretty reasonable deal!

Fortunately some good testing is finding problems before they ship out the 1st units.

I wish everyone well my G2 money was returned via PayPal it’s not 1.5 K watt model but I feel for you guys -
I don’t believe kissing up to Apache Labs going help with your delivery.any faster-
If you want action put a PalPal claim in i can say than your get asap response .
I decided wait till Flex unveils their new SDR transceiver on May 17-18 -I need a tree rooted company and customer service .

Are there two power supply’s in 1K G2 one power supply for transceiver and secondary power supply for amplifier ?
Or do you lose the total system if amplifier has problems .
Will there be parts available for USA repair center .

Looks like this week should be the big one. First post in this thread was on May 15th. Two to three weeks for receipt of the upgraded power supplies. And one more week for proper fitment and testing. That is now behind us, so notice of final payment should start being received by all those who pre-ordered the 1K5 radio.
And after a short wait for actual shipping, and any holidays and/or delays in Customs, everyone should start to receive their new 1K5 radios. Looking forward to seeing all the reviews, unboxing videos etc. And actually hearing those big signals on the air.

One thing is for sure this radio presale could have been handled better. But if they told you it’s going to be 2-3 years off they probably wouldn’t have received to much money for development. So it is what it is . My last post till I get my invoice .

I hope you are feeling better! The last update - with timeframes - was that Final Invoices & Shipping - should begin by around June 14, 2024. It is great to read your statement: "We are currently awaiting delivery of the upgraded PSUs for the 1K, the rest of the assembly is complete." That is wonderful news!!! However, the PSUs were expected by June 3, 2024 - and it is now July 2, 2024 - so the PSUs are already 1 MONTH past due.

PLEASE, can you give us an update on when the PSU company is promising to deliver the new PSUs ... how long for Final Assembly ... when you expect to begin sending out FINAL INVOICES & when you expect to begin SHIPPING the ANAN G2-1K5?

Maybe you should email this directly to Abhi. From all appearances, if looks like he rarely ever reads posts on this forum. You might have a better chance of getting a response. (as others have)

It's my understanding that FCC approval is only needed if you sell radios INSIDE the U.S. Selling them from outside the U.S. I thought didn't require it. Am I wrong?
Nice to have so a USA rep can sell -- but no necessary.

I've bought all sorts of rigs that don't have FCC approval.

I don't have one of these on order, so this is just my opinion. Why would AL wait until NOW to make this decision? I have to say that planning is not their strong suit.

You have to have a radio to test before getting FCC testing. Can't make any significant changes to it (e.g. power supplies).
So all the FCC testing indicates is they have locked down the design and components and actually have one to test.
