So, this morning I went to update the protocol 2 firmware in my 7000DLE, but in my haste, I accidentally loaded firmware Orion_MkII_v2.7_k5so_5-4.rbf thinking that was latest, but apprenty its protocol 1. When I tried to run Thetis, it obviously didnt work. The prgram wouldnt even close down and i had to go to task manager to close it. But now when I go back into the HPSDR Programmer_Web to put in the correct firmware and I select the radio, I get this message in the command window:

This is the same selection as I made before and it went through the process just fine. I really hope I didnt brick this thing.. Ive never had this issue before and have updated the firmware many times over the years. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Issue after loading wrong firmware 7000DLE
You have to use the correct programmer depending on what type (P1 or P2) of firmware currently exists in the ANAN. This is fully described in this post:
viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2333
You have to keep track of what firmware is in the box and what programmer you have to use.
I recommend you learn how to use Bootloader (see the above referenced link) because it works the same way every time and doesn't care about what firmware is loaded in the box.

Re: Issue after loading wrong firmware 7000DLE
I figured that out after I posted this. However, when I went to use the other programmer for protocol 1, and went to install the new firmware, in the middle of erasing it, it said "Power cycle and try again". So I power cycled the radio and now It wont discover the radio on either programmer and now PowerSDR MRX_PS nor Thetis will work. Im really having a bad morning here.

And when using bootloader, it just says "Erasing Device...} and never programs.

Nevermind, if I would actually slow down and read the instructions, I would have been fine. Thanks scott ill delete this post

Yes, it does take a little bit of attention to detail when you use Bootloader for the first time. But after you do it once or twice the process becomes pretty automatic.
I think we all wish the original developers had invented an easier way to load firmware. And wish it was built into Thetis! At least with Bootloader being a separately image in the hardware anyone suffering a truly bricked condition is pretty rare.
