Behringer CMD Studio 2A

Postby N9EMC » Tue Sep 24, 2024 11:43 am

Picked up the CMD Studio 2a controller. The sliders worked immediately, on to the wheels. With the help of this forum, downloaded the driver and the wheels work smoothly My unresolved issue is getting the buttons to work. The show up as 0 and 127 when pressed. The diagnosis shows as on an off as the button is depressed. However the radio does not respond to the programmed button be depressed. Any guidance would be appreciated. I do like the size of this controller and how smooth the wheels feel and work.

Thank you,
Joe

The 0 and 127 behavior is normal for a button. That is what my Behringer DJControl Compact does. And this works fine for button definitions.

For example, in my MIDI setup, on the Mapped Controls tab I have "Lock VFO A" mapped to a button on the midi controller, control type "Button", min 0, max 127. No fuss, no muss, it works fine. On the diagnostics page is shows controller 00, status 90, control number 03, data 7F (127 decimal) on button down, 00 on button up, channel 01, event Note On.

Getting the settings and mappings to save in MIDI setup can seem a bit tricky at times.

Thank you for your reply Scott. Your reply had me checking my work. I took the 0 127 from the Starlight device I have.

When I looked again at the 2A controller, upon hitting the button the values are 127 127.
