Transverter Questions 7000 DLE MK2-3 whatever?

I would like to ad one or more transverters to my new 7000DLE and reading all of the posts here I am more confused that ever about what I can and can't use. I have a trustworthy 2 meter- 28 Mhz combined tx/rx (IF) that takes 5 watts to drive.
I also have considered purchasing a new xvrtr but it also takes about 5 watts to drive but has split TX/RX path.
I don't currently have any low drive 0 Dbm etc. xvrters, all are 5-10 watts Drive level.
Would anyone care to enlighten me on if the xvrtr SMA jack can be configured with the PA active but turned down to 5 watts? Can it be configured for RX and TX on that jack or will I have to have split (IF) and send the RX to ext 1 in or somewhere else?
Lots of good info here but maybe too much to digest. Any body make a video on how to hook up and configure different types of LOW/HIGH drive split or common (IF) transverters to these radios? I'd like to be able to configure the band buttons to reflect the transverter freq and I don't belive I can just turn the power out down to 5 watts and hook into any antenna connector and have the band buttons reflect where I really am.
Pictures/ Drawings , video or detailed info greatly appreciated!
Thanks, 73
