anan 7000 mkII audio issues only on 160meters

Postby mike b » Mon May 01, 2023 8:27 pm

ok i run a anan 7000 mk2 and know how to run it so i am not a noobie to anan's with that being said time for the back story ,
i was asked by john n8llc to handle his ham radio estate when he passes away we both knew it was coming soon he has passed i have collected his equipment up to sell, knowing how bad he had rf issues with his setup i knew i needed to test everything before i sell it, i hooked his anan up and the audio is distorted only on 160 meters it is clean and clear on every band but 160 meters this it while running at 20 watts in to a dummy load, i know of nothing that would effect just one band is there anything you can think of before i send this unit off for repairs? thanks 73 n8obu

Does it happen when using VAC audio? Testing this would help rule out everything except the audio section on the board.

Is the transmit power calibrated on 160M (to know it is really at 20W output)?

Does it transmit two tone cleanly on 160?
