Hello,
So I have been having a problem with the RX on 80 meters. I have a S9 Plus 5 to 10 over on noise. And when I hook up my other radio “Flex” I only have a S7 noise. This has been going on for some time. Not sure if there is something wrong with the radio or what.
I am running protocol 2 with the Anan MK II bout only couple months go. I tried to reset the database and see if there was something wrong with that and it didn’t change anything. On all the other bands the RX levels are fine. Its only on 80 meters.
Thanks and I hope you can help.

Re: Anan 7000 MK II Signal problems
When did this problem start? When you first got the 7000? When you upgraded firmware or software? Just recently all of a sudden? Just trying to get some clue as to what might have precipitated the problem.

Jay,
I deleted your duplicate post.
Can you answer the questions I asked above so that we can get an idea of what might be causing the issue?

Re: Anan 7000 MK II Signal problems
If it was a firmware problem we'd expect it to affect all bands, so it's probably not that.
There's no discussion of antennas, antenna switching or any of that sort of thing. What happens if you disconnect the antenna? What happens if you attach a dummy load? What happens if you move the antenna lead that is connected to the 7000 for 80M to the Flex?

Re: Anan 7000 MK II Signal problems
So when I hook a dummy load up its a S1. So I am thinking its nothing to do with the radio.
Its only on the one band witch I find odd.

Re: Anan 7000 MK II Signal problems
What is your antenna and switching setup? How do you switch between the 7000 and the Flex?
Re: Anan 7000 MK II Signal problems
I have the antenna coming in going into a Palstar HF auto then going to coupler then to Mercury amp then to a switch to go from one radio to the other. I took that out of line to check if there was a difference there was none. I also changed the coax from the Flex to the anan no difference.
So out of the switch to the radio's.
Think I am going to try and hook it up to a battery and see what happens.
The antenna is a doublet feed with 600 ohm ladder line going to a 4 to 1 balun

Sounds like a nice setup. Good idea on the battery.

Thanks..
I will try the battery deal tomorrow. You on the air anywhere tonight?
