RX1 6 Meter Problem

Postby WA8ZYT » Fri Jul 21, 2023 4:57 pm

RX1 has poor sensitivity on 6 meters. 160 through 10 meters is working correctly. RX2 is working correctly.

The sensitivity on 6 meters, requires -61dbm for 10db of signal to noise, as measured on the nifty new meters, with an R8000 service monitor. It also has the identical problem when using PowerSDR MRX, latest version. A local 6 meter beacon, that is S7 on RX 2 is non existent on RX1, same antenna..

I have done a database reset, and that did not correct the problem. The problem exists on all 3 antenna ports. When switching between ports and between bands, I can hear the relays clicking normally.

I emailed W5WC a couple of weeks ago, but have not had a reply yet.

Mike,

Suspect the 6m LNA. Check your other folders as I replied on the 17th.
