PTT in/out rear panel connection

Postby rbanasik » Sat Aug 12, 2023 1:58 pm

P. 12 of the G2 manual shows PTT in or out (multipurpose?) and seems to indicate it could be used to key an amplifier. This connection on the rear of the rig seems to show 8 vdc in either receive or transmit. Is there some place in the software that I can toggle the output to a PTT out state?
Thanks for any thoughts. -- Bob - Ki1n

Wow, thank you very much for that helpful information! It hadn't dawned on me that those outputs were dual sockets. -- Bob - Ki1n

Re: PTT in/out rear panel connection - Still no joy.

Exploring the PTT IN/OUT further, I remain confused about the wiring to the amp. The PTT OUT takes TIP to Ground on Xmit, and provides 8vdc on RX. The RING is taken to GROUND on both RX and TX. This is using PTT on the front panel mic input.
Any thoughts on how I can access a PTT OUT that is OPEN on RX and goes to GROUND on TX? All thoughts appreciated. -- Bob - Ki1n
