PiHPSDR not compatible with PiApp firmware V19

Hi
Even if i use my G2 ULTRA with Thetis I just find out that PiHPSDR can't be start anymore after i have update PiApp Firmware from V10 into V19.
Curious ???
Apparently i'm not alone having this problem .

That's a fairly old build of piHPSDR. Update it: the instructions are in the manual.

I buy and recently receive my G2 Ultra and i just wonder why Appache Lab put a old PiApp firmware and even a old PiHPSDR too for over 4K USD radio ?
Is any youtube video explain how to doing that ?

I try to figure out where i can find step by step how i can update PIHPSDR on G2 Ultra but can't find that it .
Thanks for help me in this way for resolve my problem . A video on Youtube would be very usefull like Darren N4VFR have do for the P2APP firmware update what perfectely work .

Well after useless help I have flashing the firmware V10 to be back to normal and work again .

Nobody can't tell me or explaion me why I had that mess with the flashed firmware V19 and why i was not able to start PiHPSDR with it .

The question is what is the real present version of PiHPSDR and why that suposing old version alway appear ?
There is a few Ham do have the G2 ULTRA apparently have the same problem .

After i have email Christoph DL1YCF . apparently Appache Lab have very probable make some miss take by instaling the software on my G2 Ultra and even on the one from TF1A and probable other too .

Miss take from the factory ???

Why ? There is apparently 2 directory or folder where PiPHSDR is to see and to find and it is probable wrong .
That will also explain why the Firmware apprear to not be compatible because a update of PiHPSDR are probable not made on the right place .

On my G2 Ultra i can find PiHPSDR under the following path or route :

home/pi/github/pihpsdr

and the other :

/home/pi/pihpsdr

So go figure why that don't work and what i can do . The procedure i have try several time like describled don't work for some reasons and bring
alway incompatible PiHPSDR with my new lastest firmware .
The question is how to fixe that ?

Hi Michel,

I ran into the same issue, so here is the (simple) process to make it work:

1. Update the firmware to the latest version (19)
2. Shut down the radio - completely. This means pushing the power button for 5 sec after Linux has shut down.
3. Restart the G2 Ultra
4. Now get the PiHPSDR manual from Christop's repository
5. Update PiHPSDR as per the manual. The script pretty much takes care of everything, but it takes a while to complete.

Don't worry about the two PiHPSDR directories. The install script will only use one of the directories and it will place an icon on the desktop. Double clicking on the icom selects the right directory and you should see PiHPSDR starting up.

Note that the P2app should not be running when you start PiHPSDR. The P2app is currently only used with Thetis.

I had it running very well here, but I have to send the radio down to Doug because of a couple of problems likely with the FPGA.

Hello guys,

I just want to let you know that I finally solved the PiHPSDR update problem with the help of Christoph and his new script.
This problem have bring a big discussion because the script specified in any manual was apparently not adequate to update PiHPSDR to the latest new version for the G2 ULTRA.
First problem fixed . Finaly .
