I have a few bugs are they normal?

Postby Stu » Tue Mar 20, 2018 2:11 pm

Hi
Running PiHPSDR on a Pi3 B with the official 7" touch screen.
All working quite well with the exception of some annoying bugs.

1. When first switched on if I select 160m or 80m the VFO seems to be in the 5mhz range.
All other bands seem to start within the band boundaries.
If I set the frequency for 80m and 160m it stays ok for that session but after a power cycle it reverts back to 5mhz again.
I tried deleting the props file and that seemed to work for one power cycle but its back to starting at 5mhz again.

2. When first switched on say in 80m band it seems like the radio is virtually dead hardly any signal.
But if i then switch to 40m and back to 80m all the signals are there again.
Seems to me like its something to do with the band filter relays not switching to the set band on startup.

3. Im using the ky040 encoder/switches but i get some debounce issues.
Pressing the knob is very hit and miss and it acts like you have pressed them 2 or 3 times for one press.

Any suggestions for any of this?

Thanks
Stu

Hi all
Just an update.
My startup frequency problem seems to have cured itself.
The 160m and 80m bandstacks have remained intact for some time.

However I still have the deaf on start issue.
Startup on 80m and no signals or even noise.
Toggle from 80m to 40m and all fine.
Toggle back to 80m and all fine again.

My spare Pi 3 model B arrived so i have replaced my older Model 3 with this but I still get this startup issue.

The Anan doesn't do this with PowerSDR mRX PS

It still seems to me that the filter relays are not setting on startup until a band change is selected.

Cheers
Stu
