You have 2 things that you can turn on:
Settings > Transmit > Tune > Use Tune Slider

ah that is good. There was a considerable amount of work related to this and TXinhibit from Rick and Scott. I think is was close to a week of emailing, documentation, thetis code review and firmware trawling.
@everyone Thanks for the radio/protocol info. It looks like the attenuation changes are working out. I have found a couple of DDC/ADC 'gotchas' related to P2 in there this morning (P1 is fine), fixes for which will arrive in the next version, but should not cause too much of an issue atm. If you are running P1 it would be interesting to hear from you if you have not already posted.
Hopefully you are getting to grips with the PA profile system, and the limiting bar system (shift mouse wheel to adjust +-1) . I will let it run another day or so, and we will move to 2.9.0.5 just so that everyone gets updated from the pre-release .4 (rev4).
Thanks all.

The driver power limits for each band are just what I have been looking for for ages! This provides another level of protection for my RF2K PA, which uses around 5-10W drive, just in case I try to drive it with 100W. Thanks Richie...Thetis is now developing beyond any competition!

Richie,
I have to put my own thanks to you for all of your developmental work on Thetis. The positive changes have been so rapid fire that it sets off my vertigo from time to time. I love the PA profile and limit settings. Keep up the good work!
Thank you everyone else that helps to spoon feed me the obvious on occasions.
Thanks to all!

Re: Thetis v2.9.0 - Updates and Issues
I have to describe my experience with the PA offset Richie added. I was expecting 10 or 15 minutes on 80 meters. I keyed and adjusted 100 watts with the slider. I then clicked on 10 and adjusted the offset. then 20...ect ect..Within maybe less than 4 minutes I had 80 meters complete. I wish I had timed it. I had recently adjusted the offsets on the wattmeter. Making these adjustments today I was able to adjust the power level offsets and compare readings in Thetis, the Palstar tuner and through a Bird meter into a dummy load. Of course all three were very close to each other,
I was pleasantly surprised.
One other surprise was just how warm the case got. It was almost hot. I'm not sure what the limit is for the Anan 7000 DLE mkII PA. I would suggest adjusting half. Unkey and let it cool a little. Then complete the rest. I really don't want to find out what the limits actually are. One last pleasant surprise was how fast the case cooled. I'd say that within five minutes the case was cool to the touch. My hat is off to Apache-Labs for their improved cooling design.

Want/Wish MAYBE?
All of the features that have been implemented have been great and I haven't really had any ideas at all. One just came to mind. MAYBE
I have been a ham for only seven years and much of what I hear and read are new to me.
Pertaining to the tuning of Power Amplifier. I have heard discussion around a device called a "pecker". It's a device that instead of emitting a tone, emits a sound that sounds like a high speed woodpecker, for lack of a better description. The theory discussed says that the pecking sound lowers
duty cycle on the amplifier while tuning. This supposed to be less harmful to the amplifier than a sustained tone. It sounds reasonable, but does it provide any real benefit?
Most of you are probably already familiar with this. I don't know if this is something based in good testing or not. It seems if it were practical and useful I would have seen boxes for sale by now. IF this IS a good idea, how difficult would it be to include it in the software as opposed to a separate box.
Ignore this request. I read an article by W8JI that debunks the belief that this type of tuning is in any way beneficial. It is believed also this type of tuning more emulates the human voice. It does not. It increases bandwidth of the tuning signal and may irritate other persons on adjacent frequencies. I can see that this is not only possible, but probable. More information is available on W8JI's website under tuner loading procedures. http://www.w8ji.com/loading_amplifier.htm

Re: Thetis v2.9.0 - Updates and Issues
Regarding the PA calibration topic, is there anything I have to do if running a fresh install of Thetis? I noticed my stated wattage output is 100 watts when the drive slider = 50.
What do I have to change to make 100 slider = 100 watts?
Attached are my existing (default) settings. Do I need to calibrate? Any instructions on how to do so?

Those are the correct settings for a 7000. So interesting you get 100w at 50, it is as if it is actually an 8000.
Anyway, to adjust just watch this video : https://youtu.be/2VFeawGZ-is
Edit: I just deleted my database.xml, so it built a new one. I picked 7000dle, the drive was defaulted to 50. ~55w into a dummy load on tune, on 80m

Also if you are using an external watt meter you can calibrate the internal wattmeter in Thetis. If you haven't already done that. I did that again a few week ago after I first reconnected everything at my new QTH. It's great how closely it all works now.

Is 2.9.0.5 to be installed over the top, or should there be an uninstall first?
