Quick situation update

Hey all,
I thought I would post a quick message with a situation update. Everything is ok here personally, but I have taken the decision to spend summer doing 'summery' things and getting some much-needed exercise and fresh air. To that end my Thetis dev/tinkering work has completely stopped, I have not touched the code since the start of May (give or take).
I do plan on returning, to at least complete the meter stuff initially, and continue with improvements, but that will be later in the year when the weather starts to turn. Consequently, the latest release on my github will be where it sits for at least a few months unless someone else takes up the baton. (you can get a preview of early work on the meters if you download the latest commit and compile it yourself, some have done that).
In the meantime, I will be out e-biking, enjoying the weather whilst it lasts
73 Richie.
(ps: thanks to those that have checked in via email)

Thanks for the update, Richie. Enjoy your ride and stay safe, there are lots of idiots on the road (at least over here in the States) who are so addicted to texting that they can't rip their attention away from their phone long enough to look out the windshield to see what (or who) they're about to hit!
Quick question, is that a 2-meter antenna on your bike?
Thanks,
Mark

yep Mark, running aprs from a Yaesu FT1DR. The antenna is just a cheapy 2/70 with a spring at the base so I can 'get my leg over'. Strap to the frame of the bike and the vna shows an swr of 1.03:1 at 145.2MHz, seems to work great. Amazingly the ebike doesn't seem to generate any rfi, at least on 2m anyway. I will be heading out with the ic705 for some HF at some point, just need to organise the kit a bit.
atb Richie.

RIchie,
Is that your battery mounted to the lower frame in front of the seat? I would like to have a bike that has an electric motor to assist in hill climbs and do some charging when descending a hill. Do you have hills around there that you ride to the top of to make contacts?

Richie,
Your e-bike looks like a beast! The trail looks great as well.
Mountain biking is my outdoors hobby. I live 100 yards from the trail and try to go every other day.
I find a bike ride helps reduce my daily stress significantly. I’m lucky to live in an area that allows me to ride year-round.
Glad to hear you’re taking advantage of the summer weather. Have fun and keep the rubber side down!

George / W7GES
