Thetis GUI off screen

Postby JeffH » Mon Feb 13, 2023 2:22 am

My Thetis GUI is off the screen at the bottom. A few sliders at the bottom can't be seen. I have tried changing the screen pixel count, and I have tried moving it around and resizing it with the mouse. I can change to different skins, some of them help a little, but it is still off. When I click RX2 on then all of RX1 is on the screen, but RX2 is off the bottom the same as when RX1 was only on. I am running Thetis v2.9.0.6 x64 and protocol 2 v2.1.7

Thanks,

Minimum vertical resolution for regular expanded view with two receivers is 753 pixels or there abouts. If you run 200% scaling, or an extremely low res screen not sure how it would always be off the bottom.

I m not sure what you mean by "200% scaling" but I have tried all the screen resolutions by checking the rez box on the lower left screen. As I change the resolution the GUI gets bigger or smaller on my screen, but the amount that is off the GUI screen stays the same.

What is the resolution of your display in pixels?

It is a 4K monitor, Rez. Is 3840 x 2160. Just a little clarification, the GUI is not off the bottom of my screen, the the bottom of the GUI is covering the sliders on the bottom of the GUI.

Still not understanding, sorry...

Perhaps you could post a screenshot of the entire monitor display?

You need to change the scaling in Windows under the display settings depending on which version of Windows you are using. Scaling effects the size of text and in some applications, placement of various controls. Especially, if the application doesn't automatically adjust itself based on current screen resolution or user set scaling.
It is changed by percentage. Not actual screen resolution.

Jeff,

Per Richie, "Minimum vertical resolution for regular expanded view with two receivers is 753 pixels or there abouts" but your Thetis session window size is 1018 x 589, which is too small.

more screenshots attached. All the previous screenshots were at scaling of 300%. The following screen shots were at the rez. and scaling noted. I never changed the resolution on Thetis, but when I changed the display scaling the resolution that Thetis displayed changed. Another note, when I click on a resolution in Thetis, it does not always change.

I have a 4K display. Thetis won't run properly at 300% Windows display scaling. It will run fine at 150% or 100%. IIRC 125% also doesn't work properly.

I'm stumped.

Did you mess with any of the properties of the shortcut that starts Thetis, or the executable? Like the compatibility mode stuff?

Have you tried resetting the database?

No, I haven't messed with anything, I wouldn't know how. I just loaded Thetis a few days ago, when I received my new 7000DLE MKII. It was this way from the beginning. Everything loaded and worked fine from the get-go, didn't even have to mess with the network, I run the 7000 direct to a dedicated PC. It was like plug and play, it just started working by itself.

That is odd. I am running Thetis in Windows 11 Pro. And haven't had that kind of problem. Do you have similar problems with other applications? One thought. I noticed the Windows Taskbar isn't showing. Are you using Print Screen to capture screen shots?
Maybe you have Auto hide activated for the Taskbar and it is causing the problem?

Well thanks to all you guys help, I have put your comments together and got the GUI working correctly. I changed the scaling to 200%, changed the Thetis resolution to 3840 x 2160, then drug the corners with the mouse to fill the screen. Everything looks good now. Even the resolution button works now. Thank you all!!!

I run 150% scaling on a 4k monitor, same resolution, and it's perfectly fine weather thetis is maximized or the window is resized and not taking up the entire screen. Man, if I change the scaling to anything bigger, everything on screen is giant. I mean like way too big.

I also run 4K and 150%.
