Can we Edit or Add band labels?

Postby KA9UVY » Sun May 07, 2023 6:43 am

I am curious if we can go into a file somewhere in Thetis and enter additional band labels ? I can remember doing this in powerSDR about 10 years ago. I think you went in and put a marker like greater than/ less than >< then a freq and the label you wanted like "10 meter FT8" or possibly a NET name.
Since the program already has things like "75M AM Calling Frequency" in it I thought I could spot the file but I don't see it.

Just edit the database with a text editor. Thetis must be closed!
Search for "BandText".
At the second occurance you will find a chained list of frequencies.
Insert your definition at the right position and adapt the "High" value of the previous entry and the "Low" value of the succeeding one.
Avoid overlaps.

Code: Select all

  <BandText>
    <Low>1.8</Low>
    <High>1.809999</High>
    <Name>160M CW/Digital Modes</Name>
    <TX>true</TX>
  </BandText>
 <BandText>
    <Low>1.81</Low>
    <High>1.81</High>
    <Name>160M CW QRP</Name>
    <TX>true</TX>
  </BandText>
<BandText>
    <Low>1.810001</Low>
    <High>1.842999</High>
    <Name>160M CW</Name>
    <TX>true</TX>
  </BandText>

As Walter said, I have been doing it this way. Just make a copy of this section in a text file so you can restore it if you ever need to.

Thank you Walter & Gary... I figured it was possible but I have been away from this stuff a good while and my memory is not as clear as it once was.
I will give it a shot.
