I have a 4 month old 7000DLE MkIII. I operate mostly SSB. Recently I have experienced a new intermittent problem.
When VOX drops to receive, or if MOX is released to receive, I clearly hear a clinking sound from the receiver audio...a "clinking" similar to the sound of a knife edge hard tapping on an empty Coke bottle. When this is happening, the VOX becomes unstable ( probably from the clink tripping the VOX). MON button is off. For no apparent reason or change in settings, the clink disappears.
The loudness of the clink increases as the microphone setting increases. On mute, there is no sound. The clink is louder at higher receiver volume. Releasing the TUN button or 2TON button is associated with different lower pitch sounds.
I have no idea why this is happening. But it makes VOX conversation very difficult.
Changing from an RE-27 N/D to a Heil mike makes no difference
Thanks for ideas.

"Clink" Sound When Going From Xmit to Rcv
Re: "Clink" Sound When Going From Xmit to Rcv
I tried your settings. Then rebooted Thetis. Clink appears to be gone. We'll see if it stays that way.
Thank you!

My settings were not the end all and be all, but work for me in the way I run my station. You may need to tweak. I think you were hearing a few mS of RX and TX overlap and thus feedback.

I also hear a clink when opening the diversity window. The suggested settings don't fix it.
Anyone else have this behavior?

I have been having the same problem. I was able to get the problem to repeat itself fairly consistently. The first fix was to cycle the power tab on Thetis. Finally, under Setup>General>Options>Option-1, I adjusted RX Delay until the problem went away. I could shorten the delay and the problem would reappear. I finally settled on 40 for the delay.
Hope this helps,
