Hi, I have one of the original TAPR Hermes 10 PCBs. It's working very well with the TAPR firmware with PowerSDR and the Apache labs ANAN -10 PA and housing kit.
I want to upgrade the firmware to 10.7 so that I can use Thetis. Am I likely to get any problems attempting this with one of the original boards.
I think I will use the boot loader and insert a jumper on J12.
I am aware that there might be a problem with F3 after upgrade.
I would appreciate any comments and anything to look out for.
Many Thanks in advance.

Re: TAPR Hermes PCB
Hi Roger,
If you open the unit up you might want to put a heatsink on the Ethernet Phy chip.
It gets a lot warmer running at Gige.
Also note that there are later versions of the P2 firmware. Check out this thread:

Also, Thetis will run with Protocol 1 firmware in your Hermes. The only restriction is that you can only use 192KHz sample rate with Thetis and Protocol 1.

Hi All, Just an update with the upgrade, all went OK with no problems. I used HPSDRProgrammer_web_v0.2.7_windows. Ive been using it for a few weeks so far with excellent results with Thetis.
Also heatsink fitted to Ethernet chip.
Many thanks to all for the comments and help.
