Tariff Impact on Apacahe Products

Post by Chipp »

A 25% Tariff on products from India is scheduled to start on April 2. There is also the possibility of an additional 25% tariff if India continues to imports oil from Venezuela. These should be factored into any purchase as they will be collected and paid for by the recipient. Obviously this will have an impact on products delivered to the US after April 2. Fingers crossed this gets rectified before then. :!:

Latest development:
In addition to tariffs, Apache Labs shipping agent is suspending deliveries to US.

DHL Express is suspending deliveries to the US worth more than $800 (£603) because of a "significant increase" in red tape at customs following the introduction of new tariffs. The suspension starts on Monday (April 21, 2025). It will temporarily stop shipments from companies in all countries to American consumers "until further notice". This will also impact shipments valued lower than $800 starting in early May.

Only direct-to-consumer shipments over $800 are halted. Business-to-business shipments are still moving. Therefore Apache could ship to the their corporate presence in California.

Of course, "could" does not mean "will"

Just wondered if Apache-Labs currently ships from Australia? Not that it helps all that much in terms of tariffs. My other ANAN radio (bought it second-hand) is Made in Australia although, I guess that may have been the result of Covid and disruptions to supply chains.....I don't know. I assume that it was shipped from Australia.

Part of my deal on the Anan G2 Ultra back in July was that Apache Labs would pay the tariff and that I would get additional $100 off. They did not honor the original deal never received the $100 off and FedEx is sending the tariff bill to me. They keep indicating that they will take care of the tariff but it has been several months since my purchase and it hasn't happened yet and I don't believe they will. They do not honor their deals and are quick to throw a customer under the buss. Very poor customer service!

The Apache website claims that G2's are currently shipping from California, and that the G1's will ship from California.
