Hi,
Is it possible to run piHPSDR on my ANAN G2 Ultra with panel and WSJT on my PC ( Windows ) and get the audio back and forth over LAN?
I have cat control working no problem but can't get the audio to work. Seems like most of what I'm finding is for the SDR software and WSJT to both be running on the same machine.
On the rPI I have set up virtual sinks, but not sure how to connect them to LAN. I'm starting to think my approach is bad from the beginning.
I have tried Voice Meeter Banana which seemed close, but still no connection.
what is the solution?
Thanks
Joel
wsjt remote audio
Re: wsjt remote audio
It would be a lot simpler to run WSJT-X on the G2 itself. There is a Linux version.

But, would the CM4 Pi have enough horsepower to run it along with PiHPSDR?w-u-2-o wrote: Mon Sep 15, 2025 10:50 pm It would be a lot simpler to run WSJT-X on the G2 itself. There is a Linux version.

There's an easy way to find out

One would think somebody has done this already.
Re: wsjt remote audio
For me, I have been using my PC to run wsjt-x or jtdx for many years, connections are there, logbook is there, prefer to keep it there.
Still would like to know if there's a way to do audio over the LAN.

I'm 100% positive there is a way to do this. If this was Windows-to-Windows I could tell you exactly how. Unfortunately, short of doing the same Google searches you would, I don't know off the top of my head which app's to use.
A quick Google search shows that JACK runs on both Linux and Windows. I remember using JACK on Windows way back before there was Voicemeeter. https://jackaudio.org/downloads/
There is also PipeWire for Linux, but it does not seem to be available on Windows. https://pipewire.org/

Re: wsjt remote audio
Thats what I have been looking into and trying. I have a null-sink setup on the CM5 and I have tried just virtual audio cable and voice meeter banana. still no luck. I think Thetis has a more explicit setup for a virtual audio channel. Once I exhaust trying with piHPSDR, I might try Thetis.
Thanks

Re: wsjt remote audio
There is no VB Audio app that will work in this case. They are Windows only, and will not interface with any Linux-based solution. I.e., you've been going down the wrong road with those tools.
I'd strongly recommend you install JACK on both the CM5 and the Windows PC and see if you can get the two JACK instances communicating over the LAN.
Thetis and WSJT-X on the same Windows PC is completely trivial to interface.

Re: wsjt remote audio
It also looks like running pulseaudio on both machines might work. Jack also looks like a possibility, or a combination of both. So far what I have been reading is in the context of only going in one direction. Still trying to find the right bi-directional answer.
The VB-audio answer was just for the windows side with running pluseaudio server on the linux side, but it does seem like there are better answers.
It does seem possible.

Re: wsjt remote audio
Off topic, I did get it working on Thetis, was pretty simple just using VB-Audios basic virtual audio cable.
Still working on the piHPSDR solution
