I have a station close to me whose signal is 50 over s9 when transmitting, when he unkeys it takes the agc on my g2 a good 1-2 sec
to recover. If the other station comes back to him before the agc recovers I miss some of the audio.
I have tried the preset settings on the agc tab as well as trying to customize the settings with little results. Does anyone
have any suggestions on agc settings for this problem?

This is a classic "co-site" problem.
As you've already figured out, to have a faster recovery time than provided in the standard "fast" AGC preset, you'll need to create a custom AGC setting.
The best you can do for a custom setting would be to set hang time to 0, and perhaps reduced the fixed gain to 10 or even 5 dB.
If that does not provide a quick enough recovery time, then the only thing left to do is to set AGC to fixed and adjust the AGC gain manually as required.
